I think the Celtics were at their finest when he was on the court.

I never saw him play but read or heard about him.

I never saw him play but read or heard about him.

I knew more about Wilt Chamberlain because he played at Kansas University and he and Russell were rivals. But Russell was a great defender and team player. Chamberlain scored more but I think the Celtics had the more valuable player. And an even better man off of the court.

I only knew him as a former coach of the Seattle SuperSonics and a frequent presence at Seattle Storm games. RIP
