Guess it's time for Australia to care about soccer again for a few days! Good for the Socceroos! This team copped a lot of flak in our soccer press for being made up of second-division and A-League players and even I, who doesn't watch soccer, thought that was a little unfair.

There's been quite a few jokes about "at least we don't have to play those cheating diving Italian bastards this time" already this morning but my understanding is that Messi can be quite cheat-diving himself so we still need to watch out!

Now, imagine if FIFA had done the right thing in the bid process way back then...the party in Australia would be unreal!

Same in our house. Between Italy not even qualifying and the lack of true international support in Qatar, we’re just checking scores at this point. I suppose we’d watch these is and finals, but that’s it.

I can root forcthe Dutch fog you. I am in Amsterdam, watched the first half in a very crowded and noisy pub. I even happened to have an orange dress on.
