Programs Choreographed by Tatiana Tarasova

She totally transformed Yagudin from a great technical skater to a great artist.

I agree with this. And he KNEW that she could provide what he was missing and went after it. I don't think it would have worked if he wasn't completely open to her. His programs in 1999 were absolutely amazing and unlike what he had done before.

Porgy and Bess was a later pro program, so that one was probably Zueva.

The Tarasova G&G programs I remember off the top of my head:

(not sure about West Side Story or Nutcracker, so I left them off)
I don’t think Porgy and Bess was that much later. I remember watching them skate live to it with COI.

That was one of their post-Lillehammer programs, they did a summer of COI before rejoining SOI.

They worked with Tarasova in 1990-1991.

P&B was a Zueva number. @Amy L is right -- that was post-Lillehammer. G&G skated it for Tour of Champions and Holiday Festival on Ice in 1994.

Maria/West Side Story, Scheherazade, and Pagliacci were all TAT. I can't remember for sure but I think Jesus Christ Superstar was too. It's very :drama: for G&G. And the other one from this time period is Meditation from Thaïs, which could be TAT as well but if so is the most lyrical program she did for them.

Was it totally Tat or was it also Morozov's contributions. I thought Morozov was responsible for Yagudin's trademark footwork and contributed to many of Yag's great programs.

Wow this thread popped back up to the top! Going back to some comments from last year, Natalia Linichuk did NOT choreograph The Feeling Begins FD for Grishuk and Platov during the 1996-97 season. Even though Linichuk claimed that she did publicly. In reality she was working with and/or away at international competitions with her multiple other dance teams at the time G&P did the bulk of their own choreography, with some input from an outside choreographer specializing in Eastern dances who worked with them off-ice on the ballet floor. Similar to the situation with their Libertango OD, they brought in an outside specialist in tango for off-ice work (and music selection, as Linichuk refused to work with them unless they changed the music) and did the rest on their own. Seriously, there's no way Linichuk could create those classic programs after the relative drek FDs they had the prior two seasons.

Of course, Tarasova gets credit for cleaning up and adding drama for both the OD and FD before Europeans and Worlds. TT simply has an incredible ability to bring out the best of her top skaters emotionally and dramatically,
especially at big events. Plus she worked with them for the 1997-98 Olympic season. But TT didn't begin coaching them until after Christmas 1996, after G&P had won their season debut in early December in Boston at the Ultimate Four Pro-Am where they defeated Krylova & Ovsyannikov with their competition OD and FD.
