Room 1742 is very expensive to book and you're only allowed to have 4 people stay in it—unlike the huge number of people who were there during the 1969 bed-in.

To be fair I didn’t know the room number offhand either. I think one of the hotel windows has an exhibit with a bed displayed (not sure if the exact bed).

Some of the rooms at the hotel have sitting areas with sofas, and the hotel has a very mod, boutique vibe to the decor. Jorik could have paid extra for that type of room.

No, that's the official hotel (Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth) - views outside the window being shared by skaters are either of The Ring (https://www.mtl.org/en/experience/ring-montreals-icon) or the rear of Cathedral-Basilica of Mary, Queen of the World (Cathedrale Basilique Marie-Reine-du-Monde).

Yep, it's a cool hotel. I'm sort of sorry I didn't hit up my brother-in-law (who's a bigwig with the property management company associated with the hotel) for a deal on a room there. Oh well, I'm getting to stay at a hotel that I've always wanted to stay at for Worlds.

I arrived safely in Montreal and right on time (thanks American Airlines). Getting through the Montreal airport was incredibly easy and quick. Everyone I met at the airport was just lovely…..unlike that other airport I was in this morning. The only issue I had was that Lyft does not pick up at the Montreal airport. I could not get the Uber app to cooperate so I jumped in a taxi. It took 14 minutes to go from the airport to the Le. Center Sheraton. The charge was 49.45CAD before tip. My driver was aware that the World Championships were going on. There was a booth in the airport for the Championships. I have no sightings to report.

I just made the mandatory grocery run for Worlds necessities….you know like Diet Coke. I went to Provigo which is a nice downtown grocery. It’s not large but it had everything. It’s interesting as it is on the second floor facing Centre Bell. It’s above Starbucks.
On the way back to the Sheraton I had my first skater sighting. Chan and Howe were getting on the elevator in this hotel. They must be staying here as you have to have a key to get to a floor. Emily was very gracious as I told her how glad I was they are here.
