Prague Worlds - the Aftermath

In general they were very well-organized Worlds, but the queuing got to my nerves, as did the noise at the arena. Ok, I am getting older, and I do not need overloud music and screaming announcers. And specially NOT those stupid interviews after the skate. They bothered me in Sheffield, and even more now.

The attendance was great, but some of the people were talking all the time. It nearly ruined the first two groups of the men´s competition for me. During the break I talked to those ladies behind me and asked politely them to keep quiet during the skating. It helped quite a lot.

I sat high up there during all the frees, and while I am not afraid of heights, the stairs were so steep and the leg room so small that every time someone came to their places with a beer or smelly food, I was afraid they will stumble and pour it all over me. Luckily, no really perfume-oozed people near me, like in some comps.

Ted said one time, when commenting a senior event for the ISU, that they were instructed to talk during programmes for seniors, but not juniors. He didn't give the exact reason.
They are definitely told to talk over the programs. Others have said so as well. But if you read the laws about copyright and other rights, there's nothing in there to suggest that talking over the program somehow erases all rights issues.

The ISU are definitely a little confused and paranoid about it. Remember that period right when the music worries were most acute, when they weren't even broadcasting the direct music feed, they were picking up the in-arena sound on their mics to deliberately make it shittier, in an apparent attempt to not get copyright struck?

I wholeheartedly agree that it was a magical event. The arena was, to quote Chris Howarth, "packed to the gunwales" ;). The LED boards didn't bother me as much as the screaming presenters and introducing skaters as if they were boxers preparing for the fight. Btw, does anyone know the name of the third presenter/announcer working with Ashley and Tomas?
Working with Ashley and Thomas was Czech presenter and actor Libor Bouček.
