I don't know if all of you are following the thread about John Coughlin but here's the background for those who haven't read it. A fan compiled a list of people she called "Trash People in Skating" for their social media responses to John's death. It included a wide range of actions: people who outright shamed and blamed John's accusers, people who donated to his family, people who praised John and remembered him fondly, people who simply acknowledged his death without also mentioning his accusers. It also listed people who liked any of those posts, and that included Gabriella. I don't know what kind of post she liked.

A P/C fan on twitter privately contacted Gabriella about her like and she responded.

I have some strong opinions about this list and the fans who have taken it upon themselves to "educate" the skaters, but I'm very glad that Gabriella's response shows her to be a thoughtful, empathetic person who is willing to listen even when criticized by a stranger.

This is the kind of overboard action that, while demanding others to be sensitive and conscientious, loses all of that itself. Gabi's response certainly is reasonable and gracious. In my view it is them who need to be "educated".
 
Did they do any of their RD? The only thing that I am worried about with them and all the teams really is TR pattern
 
That was really good. Is this the dress she is competing in? I know she had another one at the shows.

That person has now protected her tweets. I wonder if she got some blow back for being so proud of herself for "educating" a skater and getting a PM from a skater. I saw it on my feed yesterday and didn't look back at it since but the whole thing seemed icky to me.

She has temporarily protected her tweets in the past over much smaller incidents, like petty fights with V/M stans, so it's possible. This gross power dynamic between some fans and skaters has emerged from this tragic mess. There were replies in those tweets congratulating that person for schooling Gabriella and praise for Gabi that seemed condescending, like they were patting her on the head for willing to be schooled. And the girl who brought the list from Tumblr to Twitter declaring Gabi's response as the standard by which she'll judge other skaters. In the essentials of this case, I am on their side, but I can't with their behavior.

If anyone knows the TR pattern and checkpoints please let us know how it looked technically. It looked great to me!
 
I don't mind. Happy they are doing something different. Does Gabby have 3 dresses for this dance? I wonder which she will wear at worlds lol.
 
I'm soooo looking forward to see them, soon 😍 Spend my lunch break at home to watch their RD 😍🤩😍

Loved the matching earrings, they look heavy but they're probably not, cause otherwise she wouldn't be able to skate with such speed wearing them!

They got a level 2 on the first part of their pattern and I still don't understand why. I thought they looked a bit hesitant (he in particular) but there must be something technical I am missing.

I think this programme is still growing, and we will see the best version at worlds. It's the kind of choreo and music that needs months to mature. Already the first part is looking so much better than at the beginning of the season. It's such a pity we missed 2 skates with NHK and GPF. Maybe they'll use it as an exhibition? Like A/P did with their Flamenco? One can dream.
 
They were fabulous! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: But seemed a bit dissapointed in the marks? Was it only me? Maybe they wanted to reach 85? They can be so proud about that RD! Love the new costume, but loved the first one as well :)

I was disappointed with them myself, their score that is. The scores and level nonsense is really that. How can you be so prescriptive about the levels? If that is the case you need to bring back the CD. This isn't rocket science people. Some people actually can dance and are not mere skaters. Puhlease.

Ok, now I see. I also think the gap should be muuuuch biggger. The scoring of the whole last group was :huh::huh::huh:
I have nothing against anybody there, but why on earth can SinKats lead with two falls for that moment? And why is the Polish team in 4th place? Sometimes I think I´ll never understand ice dance. But Gaby and Guillaume can still be proud of their RD. They´re the best by far. At least for me and many other fans... :)

Oh yeah, the ice will melt. They need to stop holding these international competitions in pro Russian territories, it just isn't fair to the athletes. Period.
 
They are skating one to last just before S/B. I will be nervous but when am I not with them. Anyway, Euros are always quite tricky and there is lots of time till Worlds for them to figure out the pattern and nail the midline which I thought was really good here but anyway.

yeah, when i was watching the live feed i was like, oop.. he slipped a bit coming out of the last set of twizzles! and then i saw the level 4 go up and thought, oh either i didn't see that clearly because of my nerves or the judges didn't see it. they must have re-watched the twizzle sequence then. gabby was on fire throughout though! give her all the medals!
