But is it good? Cannot watch at work. #wink.
Hard to say because, while the first version of the OFS looks kind of always a little out of sync (mirroring but not entirely so?), it was a new arrangement of patterns for them. This second version is entirely side-by-side, which looks like it has a bit more ice coverage and easier to sync (plus one small Tango flourish) but is also kind of what they've done before.

I was not the biggest fan of the candle stick lift but I think what they are trying here at the French Nationals is also something they've done before.

Aha. Based on their style and what they're going for, it looks while with mileage it could be more viewer friendly? They may have also gotten feedback from the judges to make it more accessible? I am looking forward to the changes.

I wish they had been able to find a punchier, more angular lift for the end of the RD than either of the options they’ve tried.

I also wish they had been able to work in a bigger crescendo in the FD, to give it a bit more excitement and oomph. But the Fauré may not allow for that. It’s a muted, albeit powerful, work.

Admittedly, these comments fall in the nitpicking category.

^^ that part!

i was watching a vid of the fd with my partner this morning after we watched the rd from french nationals. i was going on and on about how anti-climactic the final lift in the fd feels and how the whole last minute or so of the program just feels so uninteresting to me and he was like, 'well, the judges don't seem to think that' ?

There is a link to the FD run-through? Please share? I am loving the changes. They make sense and make the dances fresher. Just saying....
It is from FB: Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron-Art & Emotion on Ice (It is a private group/not sure I can share but you can surely become a member)

I would have preferred if they had kept the original lift... i don't think this stationary lift works better

This was a well needed subtle change and while I liked the previous lift they've been doing it for some time now it was time for a change. It works for me.

It fits the phrasing of the music less (well it doesn't fit IMO ) than the curve lift

I think the new FD lift flows better and her arms movements too but it does look simpler. The ice coverage and last twizzle of the OFS stand out more than the previous one. Let's see the whole thing now.

Yeah, but to me the new ending makes everything look sharper. But yes, this is their first outing of it needs a bit more run-throughs.
