BREAKING: Borussia Dortmund has agreed to transfer Christian Pulisic to Chelsea FC for $72.7M!

I believe this is the largest international deal ever with an American player. :watch:
It is. Chelsea immediately loaned him to Dortmund until the 2018/2019 season ends. He will join Chelsea for the 2019/2020 Prem season.

NJL (There is some skepticism about how he will fit into the Chelsea side. Is he to replace Eden Hazard? Is he to compliment him? Will he ride the bench? We will see....:)..)

Eeek! Newport have drawn Middlesbrough at home for the next match and I happen to have a friend made from festivals who can get me into a VIP box there.

Liverpool looked jaded tonight, well done Wolverhampton!

Six wins out of six games for Solskjaer. I must admit to being stumped but in a good way. But I am still a nervous wreck every time Man U plays. LOL

In the preparation for the WWC 2019 team USA went to Europe for some friendlies vs France and Spain.

Team USA had a 28 game undefeated streak going into the game v France. France brought that to an emphatic end. France 3 v 1 USA. It was worse than the score indicates. France dominated in all phases. The USA did not score until injury time in the 2nd half. A wake-up call for team USA without equal.

Game 2: Spain 0 v 1 USA. A needed win against a very good Team Spain, but it was a struggle. More work is needed. There are about 6 games remaining for team USA before the WWC starts. There are things that must be corrected. We'll see if they can do it.

The US Men's National Team beat Panama 3-0 on goals by Djordje Mihalovic, Walter Zimmerman and Christian Ramirez in an International Friendly game that drew 9,000 spectators to a 76,000 seat stadium in Glendale, AZ. The only really noteworthy part of this near meaningless event is that it was new Head Coach Gregg Berhalter's first game.

It, at least, gave some hope that the USA may be starting on the road back to respectability. The game against Costa Rica on 02/02/2019 may tell us a bit more about that as will the friendlies in March where the USMNT should have all eligible players from Europe available. The USA's performance in the CONCACAF 2019 Gold Cup, with games that have much more meaning, will be a far better indicator of the future.

We'll see.

USA 2 v 0 Costa Rica. Slow game against a better opponent than the last game with both goals scored after the 80th minute. For all of that the USA was the better team overall. Also, Gregg Berhalter became only the 3rd USA Head Coach to win his 1st 2 games.

Next will be games against Ecuador in Orlando, FL on 03/21/19 and against Chile on 03/26/19 as Team USA preps for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Manchester City 6 v 0 Chelsea. Chelsea's worst loss in the Premier League era. It was as bad as the score indicates. Man City in 1st place in the Prem on goal differential. Chelsea now in 6th place.

NJL ( note to Buzz....Man U now in 4th place...;)..)

I forgot to talk up THE MIGHTY NEWPORT COUNTY here last week! Dumped Middlesbrough out of the FA Cup 2-0!

Tomorrow they face Man City. Very excited!

(Please don’t let them score double figures against us! :shuffle: )

Man U 0 v 0 Liverpool. Man U used all 3 subs in the 1st 20 minutes or so to injuries. I have to think Man U won a point and Liverpool lost 2 because of that. For all of that it was one of those games in the Premier League that are very entertaining because of the score. There were chances, but better defense stopped them.

NJL ( The result put Liverpool back in 1st place in the Prem by one point. Arsenal's Sunday victory over Southampton put the Gunners up to 4th place over Man U by one point...…)

No comments by anyone that both of UEFA's major tournaments, the UEFA Champions League (Liverpool v Tottenham) and the UEFA Europa League (Arsenal v Chelsea) will be won by an English team? In fact it is possible that both could go to a team from London...

I am still processing that fact and the fact that none of them are Man U. I though I was making a mistake or something. LOL

I’m hopeful that Liverpool will get their first one despite the dreadful owner, John Henry, who has gutted the Boston Globe newspaper. Liv deserves one, ownership be damned.

Sorry, been busy the last few days but yes! Quite a remarkable achievement for all English clubs involved.

However, I still want Man City to win the Premiership and Tottenham to wipe the smugness off Liverpool fan’s faces as well.
