Has anyone watched "The Devil All the Time"? I really liked it. Lisa Marie Presley's daughter is in it, and she did really well with her part. There were moments I even teared up. But that's not saying much, I watched a remake of Benji and I was actually CRYING during the opening sequence when he was hiding from the bad guys as a little puppy while his whole family was snatched and likely killed. I'm a mess just thinking about it....

I saw it a few months ago, I thought it was good, not great.

Robert Pattinson was great as usual, but Tom Holland's performance was the standout for me.

Saw the first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and it is fantastic! it is movie quality and fast paced but also deal with the main characters personal lives. There is a new young character who could potentially be important in the future. :cheer2:

If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.

I recently stumbled across this clip - a couple of actors here who have gone on to become household names.

I really enjoyed it as well! It was a great balance between action and character development. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are charming.

Yikes, Oscar’s Oasis (or as my nephew calls it, Lizard) is no longer on Netflix? How does one provide such bad news to a toddler?

If there are any Christian Kane fans you might enjoy watching Finding Mabuhay. Season one is up on IMDB tv and is also available on Amazon Prime. It reminds me of the American version of Death in Paradise. Except Christian plays an ex-DEA agent that is spending his disability time in an island to avoid stress instead of being an actively employed detective. There is also a lot more action since Christian is really good at doing his own fight scenes. It's action fun with bad guys that get what they deserve every episode. Not a bad way to waste some time.

Thank you! I loved Death in Paradise. It sucked when it left Netflix. I’ll have to check out this show.

Fyi It's titled Almost Paradise on Amazon.

Marvel is rumoured to be developing a series based on the character Echo and it will star Alaqua Cox. Cox will play the character in the upcoming Hawkeye series. I believe Echo will be Marvel’s first indigenous superhero.

I just binge-watched "Imposters" on Netflix. I really liked it!!! Had me tuned in all day. I loved how a Royal Doulton character jug was a major plot element, because I collect them too!! I even have the one shown in the series, The Falconer. It was worth an entire day and a half to watch it. Now I want something else just like that!

Watched the first two episodes of the new season of Shtisel on Netflix last night. I was impressed that so many original cast members (maybe all?) are repeating their roles after the years- long gap in filming, and the mood was very much the same. We were confused for a while because we couldn't remember who some of the characters were, but it came back to us quickly. Hubby and I were both amazed at how quickly the episodes flew by. We like it a lot!

I watched WandaVision and liked it. But I expected to binge on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and I found out they're releasing the episodes weekly. I'm not happy about that. Very annoying.

I highly recommend the show Pen15. The premise is two female best friends try to navigate middle school with all the drama and hormones and real life family issues that can happen. The two main character are played by adult women but the rest of the student body are played by actual middle school-aged children, so the visual is already kind of hilarious but behind that you understand why the adult-actor/creators are playing the characters. By being adults they can delve into some seriously mature territory and in a way you can feel it after you’ve had some time and life experience to put it into perspective. Both leads are great but Maya Eskirne is a standout.

I have a ton of respect for Maya Eskirne and I’m obsessed with PEN15. The Anna Ishii-Peters episode is a tremendous achievement of balancing comedy with examining truly female friendship, puberty, and adolescence.

On a personal note, I nearly cried from the nostalgia of the AIM episode; it was a flood of memories and really captured the intensity of the dopamine hit of nerves from seeing and hearing certain screen names coming online.

Russian movie Silver Skates will be the first Russian film to enter the Netflix Originals line of online cinema, it will be available worldwide and in different languages.
Trailer
The movie is not about figure skating as it is, but actors spend lots of time on the ice and lot’s of local St Petersburg skaters took part in the crowd scenes. The plot is not very original, but the scenes of winter imperial St Petersburg are beautiful :)

Off topic: Do you by any chance know, if Netflix is going to show the 2nd season of Metod? I've watched there the first one and liked it. The 2nd I've started watching on 1tv.ru, but stopped because I need at least Russian subs to understand the best part of it.

We just finished season 1 of For All Mankind on AppleTV. I thought the show got off to a bit of a slow start in the first few episodes, but it really picked up from there, and the last 5 or 6 episodes were pretty gripping, I thought. I like movies/shows about space and NASA anyhow, so they had me from that angle. Also the characters are good (although they took a few episodes to warm up to), and the alternative-history aspect adds an interesting element of suspense. Plus Joel Kinnaman is in it. 😊 At first, I found his role kind of bland and felt he didn’t have enough to do here, after being on shows like The Killing and Altered Carbon. But by the end of the season, his character becomes more interesting. Looking forward to season 2.

At my sister's insistence, I'm trying Schitt's Creek on Netflix. So far, no laugh out loud moments, and the entire family is completely unlikeable. I'm not sure I want to stick with it long enough to get "hooked", if that does indeed happen.
I say stick with it. I had the same problem with the characters at the beginning. They have great character growth.

Schitt’s Creek is fabulous, but it’s certainly not for everyone. I grew up watching Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy since their Second City days back in the 70’s, so it was easy to fall in love with these new characters of theirs. The arrogance and selfishness of this flawed family are what makes their transformations so fascinating to watch, even tho they never actually loose those flaws, but they turn them into strengths to fight their way back. All the secondary characters are so well done and interesting too.
And Moira’s wardrobe is just pure delight.

I felt the same way and the posters here advised me to stick with it. It took most of the first season before I could say I liked it, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I had tears in my eyes by the final episode. My husband OTOH watched part of the first episode and never watched again. He was super turned off by Moira.
