I didn't warm to HBC as Margaret until Episode 7 of S4, so a little too late lol. Claire Foy as QEII and Vanessa Kirby as Margaret will forever be my faves. They lit up the screen. I wish we'd had more of Erin Doherty as Princess Anne. She was a star.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the idea of HBC as Margaret, and Vanessa Kirby was so very amazing. Tough party shoes to fill.

On Prime, S5 of The Expanse is underway with the first three episodes available. Also, the final season of Vikings, my guilty pleasure despite appalling historical inaccuracies, will be on Prime exclusively starting 12/30. I was obsessed with both space and the vikings as a kid, so I'm pretty psyched.

If I had to choose, I'd go with Olivia Colman/HBC over Claire Foy/Vanessa Kirby. But really, all of them were good. The second Philip, to me, was a definite improvement on the first Philip.
We are totally opposite because I preferred the first Philip. I found Tobias Menzies lacking charm, and his marble-mouth manner of speaking drove me nuts.

I really loved Claire Foy, she had this innocence about her that was so perfect for the Crown in the beginning. I kind of wish they kept her and just aged her

You have to watch Pixar's Soul. They've done such a great job putting really complicated topics into a format that kids can grab onto.

I liked Soul but I liked the NYC parts much better than the time before parts. I was so into the look of the film and was marveling about realistic everything looked and was disappointed when it went to the other place.

I watched Ma Rainey's Black Bottom on Netflix last night with Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis, Boseman's last film. I thought it was great and definitely expect Boseman to get the Oscar for this performance.

I have a hard time just sitting to watch tv because I multi-task by cleaning and cooking at the same time. It's making it hard to get through Stranger. Finally finished rewatching season 1 and it was as good as I remembered and I'm about to start episode 6 of season 2.

My problem is that I found 2 versions of Tunnel. One is Korean and one is Thai but it's the same story. I'm kind of curious to see how similar or different both series are. That means more that I have to sit down to watch because I have to read to understand what's going on. So my question is the story any good to begin with? If it's not even a good show I don't think I'll bother and will put something else in the queue.

We've been watching season 3 of Babylon Berlin. It was a long gap for us between seasons 1/2 and this third one, so although it's been pretty gripping, I feel like there are certain plot elements/character connections that I'm not totally getting.

And are we supposed to still like Gereon?? Because I don't. His treatment of Helga has been pretty unforgivable IMO.

Did anyone else watch Season 2 of Hilda? There were some good episodes but I felt like it was slightly lacking something compared to Season 1 and I'm not sure what.

The books are a lot wittier IMO. I found the show kind of melodramatic and a bit turgid at points.
A melodramatic Shonda show? That NEVER happens! :D

I read the first book. It was awful. I liked Daphne better in the book. But I preferred the series. The book was so flimsy. There's nothing there. Mind you, I'm not a romance novel type of person. My cousin, who is, recommended it. I don't think I've read anything else she's told me to read since then!

Binged on Bridgerton. Meh. But great eye candy. The lead actor is unbelievably handsome.
I finally signed up for Netflix and this that is the first thing it suggested to me (other than the things I'd already flagged I wanted to watch). I will bear this review in mind.

As I don't go back to work until the 11th, I've started on the stuff that is only available on Netflix. I've watched the first three episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, which I am liking so far, and have now moved on to Enola Holmes. Okay so far, but I'm only a quarter of an hour in.

Question re: Bridgerton TV series

Where is the child whose name begins with F?

They keep saying that the mother had 8 children but we’ve only seen Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Gregory and Hyacinth.

What am I missing? Did they kill F for the show? LOL....

She was in Bath. She shows up eventually.

Just watched the series finale of 'A Teacher'.
Awesome character stuff here.
Great performances by Kate Mara and Nick Robinson.

I really approve they did not go for a 'happy end' and left a really bitter taste watching this.
Final conversation with Eric confronting Claire summarized their story perfectly.

I couldn't maintain interest in "Bridgerton" however I did like Eloise very much in the time that I saw her.

I can't remember how much Francesca is in the early books, because she's married and living in Scotland {?I think it was Scotland} during the events of at least two of the earlier ones. Her first husband dies of a brain aneurism (we never meet him) and her story is book six.

I thought the books (especially book 2 and book 4) were very funny. I haven't yet watched the TV show, I'm hoping the humor lives up to the wit of the books.

Francesca shows up in episode 8 for those wondering like I was. I should have just kept watching.

Started The Queen's Gambit - it is pretty good but I don't find it bingeworthy - I guess from all the hype I was expecting more.
Watched episode one. Not sure what I'm missing, but I wasn't that impressed. I'll try episode two at some point, on the assumption it gets better, but I won't be rushing to watch.

I am watching something called Feel Good, about a charming lesbian couple figuring each other out. It’s from Britain but the lead is Canadian (the character at least, not sure the actress). I am quite charmed by this. Lisa Kudrow has a small role but is wonderful.
