National Biases and Other Judging Infractions

For some reason it´s so difficult these days to accept that humans are flawed, but so easy to hate on people for their flaws...
Aren't you the person who was saying Hanyu wanted a mother replacement for his wife?

Yeah, i think so too. People assume it's Yuzuru who divorced her for whatever reason, when it could have been the other way around. His goal was to be married, but maybe they had a different understanding of marriage, which is common between men and women. Dating is one thing, being married another. He was gonna do his thing as usual, while she was probably expected to make sacrifices and sitting at home. Years ago he did describe what kind of woman his wife should be, and one of those "criteria" was that she shouldn't annoy him or something like that.
He is looking for a mother replacement, not a wife. Even his sister had to give up her skating career for him, so we know what kind of role women have in his eyes.
🤷‍♀️
Hypocritical hypocrites will be hypocritical hypocrites, I guess.

We're all here to criticize what we dislike and praise what we love, lol.

It´s almost like all these people are- humans
Using technical issues to degrade somebody and as a"proof" that somebody shouldn´t be taken seriously (or whatever the narrative here is) is immature tbh. We all experience these issues in daily life, i even had some issues writing this post here

Actually, the narrative was one should not have been surprised that some of the above-mentioned documents seemed a bit "cobbled together".
It is not about not taking them seriously. It is more that their professional outlook can be vastly improved.
For instance, if you are doing a test of the voting machine, those in chair should have first tested them also "from the other side" instead of saying "I don't know what should appear on your monitor". And anyway, more than half of the issues weren't technical issues. If people are not in the room, it is normal that they appear as "not present". So Lakernik can spend less time wondering "where is Turkey".
A lot of not "understanding" issues at Congress would be easily resolved if ISU hire a good proofreader to draft their documents. ISU rules are often written in a rather "convulsive" manner. If your audience is full of people who know English but aren't native speakers, it is easy to have misunderstandings or not being able to understand certain things (different accents are a killer). It isn't the delegates' fault. However, knowing this is your audience, you (ISU) should be very attentive in drafting materials (including presentations) for the sessions. For instance, when I prepare presentations for conferences with an audience of (native-) speakers of my own language, I usually make presentations that are much lighter in terms of written content and I leave more room for oral commentary. When I prepare presentations for an international audience, I usually prepare slides that are more substantial in content, including also operative passages.

Oh my gosh, for this reason alone I'm happy he's been caught.

Is his vision bad? Was she the only skater slow enough for him to see? Of all the skaters to prop up...

I guess it's like the mafia - it's not that what he did was wrong this time, but his time was up or he finally crossed the wrong person. But it would be nice if there was a clear idea of where that biased judging line is for the ISU to act. I can't think of any major federation that wouldn't be crossing that regularly. (Yes, such as/especially Canadian judges)
I dunno .. a Cdn judge hasn’t been caught have they? 🤣

I hate cheating in any sport though. I don’t think it can ever be eliminated entirely.
