Nathan with Yale friends celebrating the birthday of fellow classmate & Team USA athlete Laura Zeng (rhythmic gymmastics).
Regarding his partnership with Invisalign, Chen said, “Growing up, I was never really super confident in my smile, so having this opportunity to partner with Invisalign and get their treatment is huge. I’m really excited to transform my smile. It made total sense for me given I still find myself at the rink, training and performing, and this doesn’t have any conflict with being able to perform.”
It’s real! I’m so excited to share that my picture book #WeiSkatesOn is now available to preorder! The book is illustrated by the incredibly talented @lorrainenam, who really brought this story to life.
Wei Skates On is about finding the joy in sports, no matter the outcome. This book means so much because it captures everything that makes skating so special to me — the freedom I feel on the ice, the ways it's strengthened my relationship with my mom, the people it's brought into my life. I hope it inspires you to hang on to the joy in whatever you do, too.
Olympic gold medalist and three-time World Champion Nathan Chen delivers an inspirational picture book about facing your fears and finding the joy in sports, no matter the outcome.
Wei has loved ice-skating ever since his first visit to the rink. He loves gliding across the ice, taking flight on jumps, and moving with the music—there’s nothing else like it!
But as Wei’s first big competition draws near, he begins to worry. He’s been training hard, but what if he doesn’t win? With help from Mom, can Wei find a way to handle his nerves? What would it feel like to skate without the pressure of winning?
As the first Asian American man to win gold in figure skating, Nathan Chen is a celebrated role model for kids who want to shine on and off the ice. His uplifting message of positivity and perseverance makes this story the perfect choice for social emotional learning at home or in the classroom.

Let's make this happen!
At this point, absent taking his pre-med courses, he'll most probably concentrate on data aggregation and statistical modeling.Nathan joined a cardiovascular research lab at Yale.
ETA - was news to me, whoops. In any case I could definitely see him going for MD/PhD and managing a physician-research career! Best of luck wherever he ultimately ends up, I don’t doubt he’ll do great things.
You're correct, let me edit! Thank you! Actually, I didn't know she was pregnant until I saw her pictures. Now we're waiting on Michal Brezina's wife, Danielle, on her baby news. It's supposed to be this month, too!I think Orestes is the dad's name?
