Nathan Chen Fan Thread #2

A young skater recounts her experience skating on the ice with Nathan.

A skating fan compares her Disney World VIP tour to the one taken by the SOI cast last year.

Fun: Learn how to write Nathan's Chinese name in simplified characters

Final update on the pigeon nest!

Short interview clips from the Time100 Gala

Fancam of the new SOI group number ("To Build a Home") from last night's Halifax show. I'm guessing that Nathan will take Kurt's place as the lead in the US shows.

But isn’t Kurt doing the US shows as well? I’ve never heard of SOI replacing someone who was still around, and I think Nathan’s the type who would give way to a senior skater like Kurt.

If you look closely the choreography is designed so that the "lead" role can be easily switched out for someone else. In this case because Nathan headlines the US shows I suspect they will want to highlight him. (Plus they are paying him a lot of $$$)

It's already Nathan's birthday in Asia so his Korean fans have assembled a special birthday package which includes:
1. His own star
2. Donation on his behalf to Save the Children
3. Donation on his behalf to World Wildlife Fund
4. More Nike gear
5. "Nabbit" Nathan rabbit doll--Nathan was born in the year of the rabbit according to Chinese astrology.

Nathan made an appearance for the NASDAQ Exchange's Opening Bell in NYC today with Gold House's Bing Chen and others for AANHPI Heritage Month (he walks on stage before the 14-min. mark of the video): https://www.nasdaq.com/events/gold-house-rings-the-opening-bell

“We are very good at building our own houses and breaking our own ceilings.” Thank you @goldhouseco @bingchen @nasdaq @sehrthads for having me — can’t think of a better way to have kicked off Asian Pacific American Heritage Month than to ring the opening bell alongside some of the most inspiring and accomplished people in my community!

Lorraine Nam shared 5 of her illustrations for Wei Skates On earlier this week: https://www.instagram.com/p/CrtTNOTrr7T/
For AAPI Heritage Month, here’s a few spreads of Wei and his family ? I especially loved including Wei’s mom into as many scenes as possible. She’s always paying attention and supportive. In the 4th image, Wei’s mom is in the crowd twice. I imagined that she got up from her seat to get the best view ?
