Milano 2026 ticket prices revealed

I've used booking.com for all my business hotel bookings since 2012 and I've never had an issue and they're good about cancelling even "uncancellable" reservations if you call, at least in my experience! My mom and I both signed up for the ticket lottery and didn't get a slot, so we're hoping for the Feb 25-27 slots.

I sent one inquiry via AirbNB for an apartment, I suppose it was around 130 euros per night. The host declined. I now received an offer from the same host to book it at 5000 euros per night  They obviously do not expect anyone to pay that, I just wonder why even offer.

I saw Airbnbs for more than that, one was $10K/night. My first thought: do these hosts not realize that the super-rich IOC bigwigs already have expense-paid rooms at 5-star hotels?

Re: Airbnb, I think they should make penalties for cancellation reciprocal, especially during peak periods. If you would lose the value of the booking if you cancelled, the host should have to pay you the value of the booking in compensation if they cancel. I wonder if EU regulators would be interested in taking it up.
I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're suggesting, but I will state that I had an Airbnb host cancel at the tenth (not eleventh) hour before a holiday weekend, and I was surprised until I read the reason for it. Airbnb actually responded quite well. It refunded my money, gave me an Airbnb coupon of $25, and offered to try to help book something. I called an Airbnb representative to talk things over, and I found out that if I couldn't find something in the price range of my original booking amount + the $25 credit, Airbnb would cover a hotel that was even pricier, such as a hotel $40-50 higher. Because it was a last-minute holiday search, I had some concerns, but I wound up booking a place that was cheaper than the original Airbnb, and with the $25 credit that I used weeks later, I actually made off "better" financially. Other Airbnb users may have different experiences, but mine worked out okay.

I think it is to ensure they do not get bookings for various reasons: they are unsure if they will be managing the property next year, they are not ready to accept reservations yet, they haven't decided what their rates will be or the minimum length of stay they want... I work in travel and have seen hotels set ridiculous prices on sites like booking.com when they cannot mark the room as unavailable for whatever reason (contract, perhaps), but want to make sure they do not get a reservation.

AirBnB hosts can block out dates if they aren't ready for those to be booked so they don't need to manipulate the price. I've run into a number of properties that only book six months out and anything beyond shows unavailable.

One of my Booking.com reservations canceled today after initially accepting the reservation. The company offered solutions. I have a backup, but I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of cancellations.

I got an email offering “newly available” tickets and looked because I would go to the Team Final event. Not only were there no tickets to that, the tickets to the other events were all 650 EU.

Me too. I still bought the "missing" team event ticket I needed for the 7th. (I had previously bought the 6th and the 8th, not realizing the team event was now over three days.)

If I'm going to go anyway, what's another 650 Euro... :scream:

Yes, they do but it’s it gets closer they get realistic and drop the prices. They discover that they’re not enough people to pay for their greed . We were going to go to Paris, but too many people did that so we decided not to go. As it got closer we started getting contacts from people we had contacted offering us a much better deal. My response to them was we decided not to come because your original prices were too high. From a couple of friends who live in Paris, I know that some people wound up in really bad shape because they had saved their allowed rental days to use during the Olympics and couldn’t rent at all. Oh well that’s what you get for being incredibly greedy.

Nope, they fallen into the trap. “We’re gonna make a lot of money off the Olympics.” I saw it when the Olympics were here in Atlanta. I saw it in Paris. I’ve seen it several other places. And then the fun part is most of them can’t even rent them over the Olympics after people decided not to come after they started out with their outrageous rates😂

You live an incredibly charmed life. I have never heard of Airbnb actually covering a hotel for anyone whose room was canceled. They just tell you we looked, We couldn’t find anything. Their idea of customer service is nonexistent imho.

Oh, and for those who are going to tell me that the owner will get penalized in their Airbnb rating if they do a late cancellation?Welcome to fantasyland - the owner only has to give Airbnb an acceptable excuse. One of my neighbors has a couple of Airbnb units. Anytime he wants to cancel he just tells them it’s a plumbing issue. His unit apparently has the worst plumbing in America, but Airbnb’s OK with that😂

My sister and I decided to splurge and use all our Bilt credit card points on Emirates business class to Milan. After watching a YouTube video of the experience we couldn't pass up the opportunity to travel in style. :D For the return flight we have to fly AA since it's the only time that works, and I found an AA Mastercard that gives 60k points with just one purchase and a $99 annual fee, so we're going to use that to fly business class on the way home too. I'm hoping that being able to fully recline in my own little pod will allow me to actually sleep on the flights.

That’s funny I just booked my flight on points too but Aeroplan points only 62,000 return for me but that’s just regular economy, I have splurged before for reclining seats on our trip to Venice last fall and I still was up all night so not bothering now. It was a fun experience though. I also had to pay the extra taxes but still pretty cheap.

It took me three years to accumulate all these Bilt points so I wasn't sure I wanted to use them all, but I figured let's just go big on this trip LOL.

Nice!!!! Mr. DaveRocks and I are flying back home on Emirates in business. It'll be our first time flying Emirates -- we're very excited for it! I'll have to get a full report from you in Milan. :)

I hope it lives up! When I showed my sister there was an actual bar on the plane she was  LOL. Having the lounge access at JFK and being able to board the plane directly from the lounge is incredible too. And the free pajamas!

@TanithandBenFan You guys are going to have SUCH a great time on those flights!!!

I'm waiting to book mine since it's too far out. We plan on booking in coach or Premium then using my hoard of SkyMiles to upgrade, or just paying cash because it looks like we have to connect via Air France in DG :yikes: and therefore I can't do 'Pay With Miles'.

I watch too many travel vloggers and am so jealous of all these experiences.

@Lanie I will probably book on Delta too. Still too far out to book, but looking at January sched and considering all of my options, I will likely be flying in/out of JFK, hopefully I can book in Comfort class (is it really better than regular Economy?) and taking the train to/from NYC. Unless Delta adds back the Atlanta-Milan flight on Saturdays, which they currently have removed from the sched.

I always connect in JFK especially if I'm flying Business because the Delta One Lounge is great! I think we'd leave Feb 4th or 5th. I don't know. Mini is going to miss so much school

Comfort+ is nice enough with more leg room but still narrow economy seats but I'd choose that over regular economy!

I booked the Feb 4th overnight flight so maybe I will see you at the Milan airport!

It will be first come, first served.

I guess they will only sell what is left.

Do you have a link for the sale?

It's the regular link: https://tickets.milanocortina2026.org/en/

Only Cat A available for short track, at least on Thurs the 12th. Looks like TanithandBenFan and I will wait for the resale round, sigh.

Okay I now have hockey tickets, speed skating tickets so I can watch my daughter’s former team mate in the pursuit finals and team event for the figure skating. I will wait for the Cat C tickets as they will still have some to be released for more figure skating and short track

Wow! That is crazy costs! All the things I could do with that $$ lol..My Olympics experience is pretty cheap in comparison. I also am going to various sports I don’t think I could go to the Olympics and just go to figure skating. That Ice house sounds pretty cool though. I also will be volunteering as well so hopefully will be able to enjoy other aspects too. Milan is a cool city as well so many things to see, we were there for Worlds and enjoyed the city and also taking the train to Lake Como etc
