Milano 2026 ticket prices revealed

I looked again this AM at 10AM CET on the dot and didn’t see anything new.
My friend was on a slot starting today and she could see the same thing as me …

Yes, but I think they also basically legalized the scalping and cut out the middleman :shuffle:. I spent $3500 for men, dance, and the team event, with only one segment in the top category. How much worse were scalpers really? 🤔🤣

The tickets are terribly expensive, sadly.

That was a great system.

I was wondering if they would be releasing a fresh batch of ticket each day so everyone has a chance and guess that's a no. The most popular events are gone. I am sure there will be a chance for everyone through the official resale because people's situations change.

I got a slot on Day 1 and I suppose that was a sign I should finally do it and buy the tickets. Happy I did.
 
Back before Vancouver, the only way to get tickets here was if you knew somebody or so I was told. My BFF’s Canadian husband was a big shot with Rogers and offered to get tickets but I couldn’t afford the time or money. Ever since, I figured I’d never luck out and get tickets, so despite the extortionate price I’m just glad I did.

Were these figure skating events you were looking at or others? Are these events that had specific ticket categories available before but not now?

From what i gather from various chatter, some events (women's alpine is one) or some ticket categories weren't available even on the first day. Most likely, those tix will go on sale in April in the general round. According to those who bought tix for Paris and other Olys, the organizers tend to put the more expensive categories on sale first and the cheaper ones later, obviously with the goal of trying to get people to buy more expensive tix. Kind of like skating events only selling all-event packages first and only offering weekend and single-session tix based on what's left.

Yes. Sorry I missed this earlier. Also used my Chase United Plus card bc I never use it and wanted to keep this purchase separate.

Agreed with the thought of watching on TV is better. You miss the production value of multi camera action, but there’s also something to be said for experiencing it live. We enjoyed PC 2018. Looking forward to Milan!

On Day 1 at 10.30 am CET all events and all price categories were available

Urgh. Talk about supply and demand. Figure Skating pricing is American Express Platinum Club Card stupid AF now.

I am reminded of how I was thinking about heading to NYC for Christmas last year to catch some Broadway shows.

Beyond the $10K in flights and accommodation alone coming from Melbourne, Australia, ticket costs are through the roof.

It was far quicker, cheaper, and easier to fly north to Sydney, see 6 top shows, stay at a lovely serviced apartment, and walk into town each day to sight see. All for less than $1500 for the week total.
 
Finally my air B&B confirmed it was the 5th one as all the other ones I supposedly “booked” were not confirmed and had price adjustments. Now I am fully paid for the two weeks (deposit) and can cancel up until the week before.
I do recall from Worlds in 2018 how easy the public transport system was and the trams! So made sure to book on the tram line.
They are making the downtown the piazza into an Olympics where they will have ice rinks and demos and big screens. This is a big bucket list for me and will watch a few different events maybe take the 4 hour trek to the Alps for some more. The express trains will help. Will be nice to see some of you again!
 
Oy, what a $hitshow that was on Friday at 4am trying to get tickets for both me and Mr. DaveRocks! Like others experienced, there were a ton of issues with the payment process. Citi Mastercard = no go, even after verifying the transaction via text. Chase Sapphire = same. And of course then I lost all the tickets I had in my cart since the timer ran out. I called Chase, got a fraud person on the line, then added just a few tickets, and he pushed the purchase through. He assured me I'd be able to use this card moving forward. Spoiler alert: nope! When I tried to purchase the rest of the tickets I wanted, same issue, and of course the time was once again ticking down on the counter! So, I tried my Capital One card, and it immediately went through after a text verification. Wish I had known ahead of time that Capital One had their ducks in a row! Anyhow, we have all that we want, but what should have been a 10-minute process turned into a two-and-a-half-hour high stress ordeal.

I booked the AirBnb a few weeks ago, right at a stop on the M2 Green line, the line that goes directly to the arena. I confirmed with the host that we'd be there for the Olympics and that the rate would stand. He confirmed all of this in writing, but I've heard horror stories about AirBnb. Fingers crossed.

We didn't attend the Opening Ceremonies in person in 2014 or 2018, so we decided to give it a go this time around. Day 1 of the team event is earlier on that day and day 2 of the team event isn't until the following evening, so we figured, why not!?! Should be fun to experience it at least once.

We'll be at the Team event x3, RD, MS, FD, and MF, as well as two days of short track. Wish we could stay for the pairs, but as it is I'll be missing over a week and a half of teaching. :yikes:

Looking forward to seeing FSUers there. Less than a year to go! :respec:
 
I've been lurking on this board for years but this is my first ever post. I just want to thank all the FSUers for posting their first hand experience with Olympic tickets. This was my first time entering the ticket lottery for any Olympics. I was excited to get an appointment for Friday and pretty eagerly snatched up Category A tickets for every free skate event except the team. One of my professors has gone to like every Olympics since 2010 but didn't get "lucky" for this one. I took that as a sign that I may never have this opportunity again, so yesterday, I went back to the portal and got short program tickets. Went fine except that every single AirBnB I booked fell through. Fourth time was the charm, though! Right on the green line near Cardona. I wouldn't have tried again for a few more weeks but for 4rkids and DaveRocks. Ironically I am leading my first-ever travel class to Tuscany just three weeks after the Olympics so I may just stay in country for awhile. I am SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I've waited 40 years to go to my first Olympics (I grew up outside LA during the 1984 games but my parents wouldn't take me). As a figure skater myself, I didn't want to go to this Olympics unless I had figure skating tickets. Otherwise, I would just be watching it on TV while traveling, which seemed silly.
 
The difference between scalpers and this system is more than difference in price: it’s knowing that the tickets are real, and that you didn’t invest in plane tickets and rooms, only to find you can’t get in to see anything.

You can get good deals price wise and legitimate tickets at the last minute from scalpers/speculators especially just after the event starts, if you don’t mind missing the first few performers and accept that the tickets might be fake and you were ripped off. You might also be able to find “my friend/spouse/etc. couldn’t come” tickets from people you’d be sitting next to, if that impacts your negotiating style. There were people I know in 2010 who bought a few tickets up front, but ended up paying far less to see all but the first few skaters for other events, since it took a while to walk through the PNE grounds, get through security, and get to the seat.

I tried three before getting a confirmation from the fourth. I also made some refundable reservations on Booking.com. I won't keep them all for very long because I want others to be able to secure their reservations, but I am a bit worried about cancelations from the hosts. I am not sure what is safer to keep - AirBNB or booking.com. I too have chatted with my AirBNB host and made them aware the reservation was for the Olympics. Any thoughts?

Well I think they need to be careful as they are one of the biggest sponsors of the Milan Cortino Olympics (air b&b) and if they are a long term host with good reviews I don’t think they will risk too much? The one we settled on I just put the initial deposit and the rest not due till January and that was after we had to cancel because she hadn’t put her prices up - but even her prices up were not really bad and we have had several conversations now so I feel good about it. I feel better with a good host from air b&b or VRBo than booking.com as they are just a third party and the hotel can cancel on them. I doubt for long term hosts they will risk their reputation over two weeks?
 
Booking.com has become the Bigfoot in the hotel business, you don’t piss them off. I would trust a hotel more than AirBnB but nothing is foolproof.
 
I would suggest just going with the hotel website directly rather than using a third party reservation company like booking.com or hotels.com - it's not worth the hassle if you need to cancel or the site screws up your reservation during the booking process.
 
My turn finally came and no, they dhave not added tickets for:
Team event free
Men FS
Pair FS
Women FS

are not available anymore.

Anyone who accidentally got men FS more than needed, please let me know!:cry:

ETA: now women's SP is also gone. FD has the most expensive seats only.

I didn’t realize that the team event was now in three parts, whoops. (Or has it always been that way?) I bought the first and the third but not the second! I’ll have to buy the second in April, unless someone still has an open ticket window? (PM me if you do.)

Or maybe I’ll just skip it since it’s men’s short and free dance, which I’ll see anyway in the main event. My main purpose in buying tickets for the team event was to see women and pairs.

We didn't want a hotel as we'd like to have the option to cook rather than spend money in restaurants for all meals. Most hotels are showing ridiculous rates or no availability so I'm guessing they have not opened their booking just yet. Or they are truly sold out? Either way, I feel better having at least some sort of reservation for the time being.

I have had my hotel cancelled with booking.com so I would try to directly deal with the hotel for special events. If you do use air b&b use your own travel insurance for cancellation if its past the cut off date - as I have experienced that and it was pretty seamless. But yes booking.com is my usual go to but not for special events being a third party its the first to get kicked off by the hotels.

yeah I did the same - I much prefer to do my own cooking and use the local markets and I needed confirmed accommodation even before tickets. We got an apt in Milan for worlds and the public transport especially the trams makes getting to the rink and downtown very easily. Back then the rink was the last stop. Hopefully the bathroom situation has improved - we took over the men's there were so few washrooms. Milan itself is worth a visit we did some good historical walks.
I am quite sure more tickets will be getting released in April but typically they started with the most expensive first. But I would also recommend getting tickets for the hockey and speed skating as well. I also plan on going up to Bormio and catching some of the winter sports up there. In the Fall we were camping close to Cortino and it was beautiful up there - but I think a bit far from Milan.

I had a hotel through booking.com in Amsterdam for my last night in Holland in June, and started getting spam texts supposedly from the hotel, but through the booking app. I cancelled that hotel and booked a different one directly through the hotel. So you still have to be careful.
 
I was also phished (unsuccessfully) through booking.com. I reported it, and it was investigated and taken seriously. A rogue hotel employee was trying to get people to pay for their stay on a spoofed phishing site. It was a pretty convincing phish, especially since it came through the booking.com chat. Keep in mind that the bad actor could've used just about any platform that the hotel participated in, so you're not necessarily safer elsewhere.

Re: Airbnb, I think they should make penalties for cancellation reciprocal, especially during peak periods. If you would lose the value of the booking if you cancelled, the host should have to pay you the value of the booking in compensation if they cancel. I wonder if EU regulators would be interested in taking it up.
