Since coming out in 2021, ”It’s changed my mentality day to day in terms of how I bring myself to the rink,” he said. “It might have been self imposed, but there was a pressure to maintain a level of professionalism where I show up and I skate and this is my job and the rest of myself doesn’t really matter in the context of my work.

The launch of “Proud Champions” follows the successful staging of Pride House Paris at the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.
The network’s website features profiles of an initial 15 member athletes, all of whom have experience in elite sports. Some have now retired, while others are still competing."

LGBTQ+ Olympic athletes took the stage with stories worth gold: coming out, courage, dreams running faster than any record. True inspiration
Pride House was full of energy: a vibrant space for connection, culture, and community. Talks, panels, cinema, and art brought MEET to life, turning it into a shared space to experience the excitement of the Games together.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, listened, shared, and felt moved. And a huge thank you to the amazing team of volunteers who make all of this possible
