No. Give it to someone else. But does Sean Penn really need a third Oscar……and right now?

Yeah, I started watching it at home and thought it was stupid. Too bad.Well, i finally watch the new naked gun on the airplane coming home… everything that was funny in the movie was in the trailer, the trailer was an A+, and the movie itself was a D or a C I couldn’t believe it. The premise in the storyline was so juvenile boy, but not in a sophisticated, funny way, like the original naked gun. I mean the villain had a toy to make everybody go crazy? What a stupid story line.

I'll wait until they are both on streaming before I attempt that!some theaters are having a wicked double feature. I'm tempted. I think I can live with the 5 + hr run time high off sugar and caffeine. I'm afraid it will be full of children who need a nap.
Me, too. I haven’t watched the first one yet because I’m waiting for the second to come out. I’ve read the book and seen the musical. I’ll read the Wikipedia article (I need spoilers or I get very stressed out) and wait patiently.I'll wait until they are both on streaming before I attempt that!

The past Naked Gun movies were always about slapstick. It was low brow and over the top silly and that was what the audience loved about it. Those films were never "sophisticated".
Do you like movies with a weird plot that just gets odder and odder?
I’m guessing this is going to be soundtrack music for Lara next season.![]()
One Battle is an interesting movie but why is it considered a Comedy? I didn’t find a single humorous scene in it. There is plenty of violence, stunts, and drama in it but I saw nothing funny.
It’s not like I am lacking in sense of humor. I have seen movies that made me laugh.
After the first 1/4 I did find OBAA interesting and the cinematography was terrific. So was the acting by the entire cast.
Just to confuse me even more, I read that they entered this movie in the Comedy/Mysical category for the Golden Globes. It was a move to avoid competition with another top movie that’s in the drama category. I may not even see that other movie. Chances are I may see just one movie before going on vacation.
OBAA isn't an unfunny movie but I definitely thought they would reverse it with Sinners campaign wise for the Golden Globes. Though campaigning a vampire movie as a comedy/musical on the merits of it being a musical is a bigger gamble. OBAA isn't unfunny, there's plenty of humour in it, my screening laughed a fair amount at the stuff with Leonardo Di Caprio and Benicio Del Toro's characters in particular, but I would have probably put it as a drama for the Golden Globes anyway.
