Well, that was fast. I got my tix in the mail today. Fastest ticket mailing ever? The tix come in a string and the sessions are a bit out of order, but they're all there. Looking forward to October!
I didn't get mine yet, but hopefully tomorrow!

Debbie S and SkateSand, thank you for your responses to my anguished plea! Alas, nothing worked and I had the same experience as SidelineSkater in trying to get an actual human on any of the phone numbers. Finally managed to get what appear to be decent seats in Section 104 (not as good as the original seats I thought I had until Ticketmaster laughed at me, but good enough), now waiting for the tickets to arrive. Looking forward to Skate America, and hoping for good news in June/July with respect to the skaters USFSA chooses.

You can get really good hotel rate deals, especially at that time of year. Plus join those hotel reward programs for free meals.

I have a question hopefully someone can answer for me.

I plan on going to Skate America and it will be my first time attending a skating competition. I thought maybe I could save a little money and buy the packages when they go on sale in August. My question is: Do they typically reserve some of the good seats for those tickets? I figured they probably do but I just want to make sure. I definitely want to get as good of a seat as possible, but I have no interest in attending practices or the exhibition.

Thanks so much and I look forward to meeting some of you in Vegas!

The All Event ticket is typically the best deal. That's why I got two of them. One for me and one for my family to use if they want to attend something. Even if no one goes to everything, it's cheaper than buying individual tickets. If SkAm has weekend packages, it should be cheaper than those too. It should be cheaper even if you don't go to the Gala.

If I go I will probably buy individual tickets as I will probably only go to the Saturday sessions. So for me the All Event probably would not be the best deal. It really depends on what you plan to do.

I'm a little slow and figured out the seats they're reserving for the single and paired sessions aren't really the best. So I bit the bullet and bought the All Event Pass. Now I wish I hadn't waited so long because the best Tier I tickets are like 2 rows up from the Tier II ones. Oh well. I'm sure it will still be a blast.

You will have a blast. I have been to prior Grand Prix events in the first few rows and then was two rows from the rafters at 2006 US Nationals. All were amazing in their own way, at least the skaters won’t look like ants from any seat in this venue.

I am excited to reveal that my friend and I have purchased a room at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino for our Skate America trip. My friend was interested in the nearby Cosmopolitan, but it was a bit on the expensive side and seemed a little more geared toward a younger, hipper, big city crowd. I had some trouble with figuring out how to request two beds, but hopefully everything will work out. Now we just need to make some decisions about transportation, skating tickets, restaurants, day trips, and issues concerning my friend's health needs.

As an aside, I am not sure why a person above (Sasha is DIVINE) is allowed to have a hateful slur in a quote at the bottom of their message. Is it an error on my computer's part that I am seeing it? I haven't noticed something like that before on the boards.

If you are bothered by something like this, it should be reported or taken up with a board administrator. Making a comment in a thread does not ensure that an administrator will see it.

I apologize if this is already answered... Is it announced when individual session tickets will be on sale? Also how much do these typically cost? Thanks in advance for any insights. We will only be in town for the Saturday free skates and will probably just do one session Saturday.

There seems to be some uncertainty in my plans. I may end up in Vegas for SA. I made reservations at the Orleans but I can't buy a ticket until it is a certainty. I am quite frustrated by the uncertainty. All the good seats are already gone I think.

I still see a lot of good seats. (be sure to click on the "Best seats" option TM is automatically defaulting to "cheap" for me) But when I click on the seat map it doesn't look anywhere close to selling out :)

Plus every year there are people selling seats on here (Heck someone has already listed tickets to the World's in Montreal and they just went on sale yesterday :) )

Flight prices took a big dip today, at least out of Miami. I’m talking $150 less for round trip. If you haven’t purchased yet, you may want to look. (Thursday —> Monday)
Not so on SW. :( I did get a sale fare on Spirit last week (they have frequent sales) for the flight to Vegas, but I'll be flying SW on the way home.

Does anyone want to take a guess at when the gala will be on Sunday? More specifically, do we have a sense of when it will be over?
