Keegan Messing Cheer thread

^^^^ Yes, I posted the WTT practice clip in the Canadian Men's thread in GSD earlier today and was going to cross-post it here but forgot, so thanks! :)

Last summer, Keegan posted 2 attempts of landing the 4A using the harness pole (held by his coach Ralph Burghart) on his IG: https://www.instagram.com/p/BkjTxGJjQY6/

Messing with Keegan
Keegan Messing is serious about having fun. His goal is Olympic gold in figure skating, but that doesn't stop him from dreaming up a new Olympic contest. His idea is three kinds of skaters — speed, hockey, and figures — all duking it out in tests of overall skating supremacy. Unlikely, but fun idea, right? He is no stranger to unlikely plans. Born in rural Alaska, in a home with no running water, a young Keegan watched a DVD of Canadian figure skating great Elvis Stojko and knew that a men's singles Olympic gold medal was exactly what he wanted. He quickly figured out that Team Canada was going to be his best way to get there and having a Canadian mother opened the eligibility door. Like many Alaskans, the 27-year-old is at home in the outdoors. He can fix his own cars and dirt bikes with the best of them. His career makes him a jet-setter, but his heart sings when he's way off the grid. What sets Messing apart is the power he brings to performance on the ice. Coming up in the Patrick Chan years, Keegan's intense strength and jumping ability almost feels like a throwback to a previous era. He is in the driver's seat now as Canada's top male skater. Working hard and having fun every step of the way.

Messing won bronze at the event with a total of 256.02 points and debuted his new short program featuring the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran. On the Player's Own Voice podcast, Messing said the song is close to his heart because it was his and his wife's first dance when they got married in August.
Keegan shared these 2 sets of wedding photos on his IG last month :):

Beverley Smith's article before Worlds (March 17, 2021):
Excerpts:
Messing said he was ecstatic to get the lone men’s spot for this year’s version of the global contest. He found out on Feb. 24. “There was a lot of mixed emotions, honestly, getting the spot.” He thought and hoped Nguyen would get it. The twosome, separated by thousands of miles, were on the phone sometimes twice daily, discussing it all. “Nam and I were both on Team Nam for the spot,” Messing said.
“So when I got it, he had nothing but support for me getting it, and I was also in the spot: ‘Oh man I thought you were going to get it, but I’m going to push this through and we’re going to do this together [in spirit].”
He is going to the world championships as a happy man. Beaming with happiness. Stoked at what life has given him. He and his wife, Lane, are expecting a child on July 4. (Lane, couldn’t you speed it up and have the baby on Canada Day, July 1?) They debated on whether to start trying. It was a hard decision. Now, Messing says, he can’t even imagine it being a hard decision.
“It’s everything I’ve always wanted,” he said. “I’m so excited for what’s to come and the challenges it will bring. I really feel like I’ve got more life left in my skating and I can’t wait to express it through skating.”
