Excerpt from Skate Canada's "Women’s Top Moments from the 2023/2024 Season" article:

One of the most remarkable Canadian athletes this season was none other than Lia Cho, a novice skater from Alberta. At Skate Canada Challenge – Pre-Novice/Novice, Cho took home the gold medal and set a new Canadian novice record with a total score of 153.81. Cho then went on to rewrite the history books yet again at the 2024 Novice Canadian Championships, where she captured first place and broke her own record with a score of 166.56 – 33 points ahead of the nearest competition.

The year finished just as good as it started for our female athletes, with three Canadian novice skaters sweeping the podium at the Triglav Trophy in Slovenia. Lia Cho continued to dominate the women’s discipline, claiming the gold medal with a notable lead. She was followed by Ksenia Krouzkevitch of Ontario, and Sandrine Blais of Quebec who took home the silver and bronze medals respectively. It was an especially remarkable result considering that it was the skaters’ first international competition!

Feed's back at last, though pretty glitchy. And gone again. I finally switched to the French feed.

I have the advantage of being able to switch to the CBC restream. 😺

CBC stream came back first - it's fine on my laptop but buffering and low quality on my smart tv.

DailyMotion stream also came back but only on my laptop and only with audio way behind the video - a couple of minutes I'd say.

I have very slight "blips" on the smart TV for CBC.
Perhaps it is a sign that I should run out and do a quick errand :)

The CBC Gem app is working much better than daily motion for me, which is weird because usually it's the opposite for me. (The app is free and just needs you to create a free CBC account to login.)

The pattern they have chosen to put on the bottom of the boards is really unnecessary (and not that cute on top of it). I find it distracting honestly, my eye keeps going to that when the camera gets in closer. Talk about fixing what isn’t broken. A simple blue or red would have sufficed as it has for the last 50 years.

I didn't even see it until you said that.

So DailyMotion is back on both smart tv (with internet browser) and laptop with audio & video now in sync again. :)

For me Daily Motion has always been more reliable and less glitchy than CBC sports stream, which in turn was better than on GEM so I was very surprised this time.
:)

DailyMotion doesn't seem to be available to me right now. :(

So of course both CBC and Daily Motion streams are off now - hopefully on purpose during ice resurfacing to clear up and remaining issues with the feed.
That's what I'm hoping - I ran out and did my errand and am now ready to watch :)

On CBC feed it is saying program will resume- can someone confirm ice make is still going on? Seems very long lol

Was thinking the same but skating hasn’t started yet.
Do you have confirmation from the rink?

I wound up napping through the RD and the first couple groups because of my once-again interrupted/short sleep cycle last night. I'm hoping the livestream will be back for at least the last group of Jr Women and the Jr Pairs SP.

Final event of the day is Junior Synchro. Junior Pairs SP is tomorrow after the Junior Men FP & FD.
You know, I have everything saved in my phone calendar and I just didn't bother to look at it, lol. I'm going to hope, then, for the stream to come back for Jr Synchro. I appreciate that Skate Canada includes Synchro at their Nationals.

Dailymotion now showing the ice on the French channel. English channel showing Ted and Kaetlyn.

CBC Gem - program will resume…

The response when I contacted Skate Canada via Instagram:
"Hi there! We are currently having technical difficulties at the venue but our team is working hard to fix it as quickly as possible. Skating should resume shortly! We appreciate your patience! 😊 "

English DailyMotion is showing warmup now.

CBC stream has now resumed - showing warm-up with ambient arena sound but no commentary.
