Junior Women SP & FP

I'm here!

From the first group, I really liked Laurence Gignac. She doesn't have the harder triples, but the ones she did were really strong. She also has good expression and overall body movement.

I'm multi-tasking and watching 2 sports live but where is everybody else?

I just got back from a walk outside. Brrrrrrrrrr...it's FRIGID out there!! Grabbed a quick lunch and now am all settled under my heated throw with a hot cup of green tea and watching the last 2 flights of jr. ladies. This is MUCH better than freezing outside.

Can't really go for a walk here right now - Alberta clipper. Not much snow but with lots of snow already on the ground and wind gusts close to 100 one wouldn't be able to see or even stand up straight, lol. Even the windows are plastered with snow on 3 of the 4 sides of the house.

YIKES!! That sounds brutal. Stay safe and warm.

Calissa Adlem has potential. I don't think I saw her do a triple loop, but she attempted toe, salchow, flip and lutz (although she did have 2 falls). She skated with speed and power, and brought some emotion into her choreo sequence.

Such a shame about the errors and song lyrics can sometimes be so cruel .... "float like a feather" just as her bottom hit the ice on the first fall (sigh). Like Kaetlyn, I also love "Creep" and the way it builds and Calissa did have some beautful moves in that program. But, too many mistakes today, unfortunately.

Yes, there were 2 glitches but I really loved Konstantina's program. Wonderful spinner and some excellent jumps as well. But, most of all, I loved the choreography and the way she performed it.

Konstantina Lock leads (94.27 in FP, 143.95) before the final group of 5: https://skatecanada.ca/results/25CDNSJuniorWomenCR.pdf

Shaky program for Reese Rose - lots of doubles, off-kilter landings on the triples she did land. Probably enough to remain in 5th, but moving up will depend on the other skaters left skating very poorly.

Wellllll... Reese is moving up to at least 4th. That was rough for Megane.

Oh my ..... everything was going so well for Megane and then 3 falls in a row. I was starting to wonder if she had hurt herself or there was an equipment issue but I guess not. Shame.

Who is this Ksenia? Katelyn says she's 13, so I presume she wasn't eligible for the JGP this fall, but will be next season?

Another rough skate for Sandrine - couple of falls and ended well behind the music. I think she has enough of a lead from the SP to stay ahead of Reese, though.
