Junior Women SP & FP

Well it's group 3 so we didn't miss anything, but what a wait for the skaters, and apparently no commentators but maybe they went out for dinner lol.

And gone again - rats!

And Daily Motion back again - I can't keep up with it. Now gone again - this is so un-funny.

It came back again on CBC but "reload error" on DailyMotion and now CBC is gone again :(

Edited to add that now we're back again - for how long????

Sadie Henderson - just very happy to be here competing. Also - the Loena effect being seen in the junior ranks with the song choice of "Black & Gold"???

I have been adding replay links to my last post in the videos thread here https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/posts/6713474/

Of note are 2 Daily Motion videos available now for the Jr Women's Short. The english version has up to the point of the first freeze so basically the intro plus Ksenia Krouzkevitch and intro of Brookelynn. The French version has the first 2 groups, though I don't know how many glitches or stoppages might be included.

I had been wondering if they delayed Group 3 due to the lack of ability to stream the competition because I didn't really think that would be a good enough reason to delay the competition.

Then I finally heard that the internet had been completely out and realized it would have had an impact on the scoring system, so of course they couldn't continue.

Ted talking about that problem now and also mentioned they no longer have their access to the scoring system to help them with commentary.

Final group of 5:
15 Sandrine Blais QC (NextGen) https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00120291.htm
16 Calissa Adlem BC/YK
17 Mégane Vallières QC
18 Reese Rose ON (NextGen; won silver for Jr. SP only in Nice FRA) https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00117222.htm
19 Lia Cho AB/NT/NU (NextGen) https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00120295.htm ("Blue Danube" SP choreo. by Jeff Langdon)

ETA that Canada has 2 women's spots for 2025 Junior Worlds (thanks to Lulu Lin's 10th place finish last year).
Lia Cho's ISU bio says her SP music is "Blue Danube by Ramin Djawadi" - SO sorry, Johann Strauss II! ;)
It's a track from Fly Me To The Moon (2008 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).

Not too shabby for Sandrine Blais. She could use a bit more control in her step sequence & facial expression, but solid skate nonetheless.

Calissa was doing great and then sat down on nothing. Matched the music perfectly, though.

I like "Mein Herr" (always reminds me of Sasha Cohen), but I probably wouldn't give it to a junior.

I felt the same about Kaydee Kallay in the previous group skating to selections from "Chicago" - Roxie Hart and/or Velma Kelly from junior girls always makes me raise my eyebrow.

First time I've seen Lia Cho - she's very charming, but oh so tiny. I can see why folks are excited about her, but it's a looooong time before she'll be junior age-eligible let alone senior age-eligible.

1 Lia Cho AB/NT/NU 64.19 - all jumps called clean; only FCSp1 - wonder what happened there?

Lia is so fun to watch because she really exudes enjoyment right now in her skating. She seems to love it and that’s wonderful.

KO correctly noted her air position on the warm up though. Her feet are awfully far apart and I hope they are working on that for the future. This works now but probably won’t when she’s 18. Now is the time to fix these things when the stakes are relatively low. This is a special talent and I hope the big picture is being looked at for her. I have faith she has a good team around her though.
