Always satisfying to see a skater like Liam Schmidt skate well at "home" and look happy afterwards! In 2nd overall with 164.38 behind David Shteyngart 117.81 (1st in FS) 170.03 total - final group warming up now.

All triples, including 3Lz+3T, landed by Parker! He is (IMO) the most improved skater from last season - "only" 4th at 2024 Novice Nationals.

He has a good sense of the music, and some nice moves in the field.

I loved the Ina Bauer into the knee slide in Jake's choreo sequence. Also very cool that he choreographed this program himself!

William Chan has beautiful glide and soft knees.

A little hot and cold on the jumps, but he finished strong.

Energetic program by Chan. Seemed to have very good speed most of the time. The way his ankle turned on the 2axel in that 3-jump combo ... Yikes!! Good musicality throughout. Good job.

His presentation isn't as natural or fluid as the other top guys, but he has certainly been making quite a bit of progress in that area this season.

(And chiming in to say that the "pick up the toe during a spin to where you're just on the heel of the blade for a quarter of a second" thing that they're forcing all the men to do this season looks really unattractive.)

Great skate by David Bondar! Amazing height on those 3axels. All kinds of wonderful moves in the field. Flexibility, speed ... he's got it all. Definitely should lead by quite a bit. You are ready for the Seniors, David.

Oh, I wish Edward could have skated that program cleanly today. November Rain is such powerful music and he obviously really feels it. Had there not been so many errors, that closing section where he really let loose and gave 100% to interpretating the music would have brought the crowd to their feet. Unfortunately, he was a bit behind the music at the end but .... wow ... if he gets this program CLEAN, it will be thrilling to see.

Aw darn, Parker just missed out on a medal. But, the SP lead lets David Howe hold on. Often, I wish there were more medals to give out (sigh). This was an exciting competition though.
