JGP #6 - Ljubljana Cup, Ljubljana SLO - Men's SP & FS

I know folks were complaining last week about Artem Darenskiy and his mustache competing in JGP pairs, so are these same people going to complain about David Sedej, who is 4 years younger, with his mustache competing on the JGP in men's singles??

ETA - maybe he doesn't have a mustache. The lighting is terrible and his bone structure and the shadows made me think he has one, lol.

Matvii YEFYMENKO (POL) was born in Kharkiv UKR and so I find it poignant that he is skating to Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Little Luka Imedashvili (Lith) is coming up in this next group. Take Five and Sing Sing Sing.

Ted is back (he has duties at a BC competition happening in Chilliwack) before Luka takes the ice.

Imedashvili has the SWING! Isn’t this a pleasant sort of skating? I hope that his career continues…also Haugeto in the US.

Johansson has some really nice qualities, particularly good posture for a taller guy, but just seems to have no competitive nerves this season.

Pretty sure I've mentioned this more than once before ;) - I saw Casper in his JGP debut in Lake Placid in August 2019 when he was 13 and TINY!! Hard to believe he has grown SO tall now in the 5 years since. He's been injured, IIRC, so this is a later start to his season.

Silence of the Lambs! I honestly can't remember anyone doing a program to that before (though I'll bet the FSU hive mind can come up with one  ).

Ted: "It's not a happy movie..."

ETA: Zich initially was listed for 2 JGPs and I thought he might be a contender based on past competitions. I look forward to seeing more from him!

Zich as a mass murderer..hand goes to his mouth often. Creepy but well done.

Cute shot of the British cheering in the stands. I'm still struggling to get used to Ash and Atl's new hairdos. :)

Aww, I love watching the skaters that show they really love what they’re doing. I’d love to see more stretch & toe point, but fantastic for his first JGP!

Weiler - SOS song appropriate. Lots of skids and off-balance moments. Lambiel’s latest fave?

Yay for Grayson, it seems like I’ve been hearing about his potential for several years now, it was great to see that come to fruition.

Sorry that Ean had a bit of a disappointing skate, but I really loved his choreo sequence and flexibility. And I think he still has more time in Jr to grow.
