Just now watching this. Any backstory on Obrien/Tong and their connection with AZE? I actually enjoyed the program so hope they can improve as they have personality.
[catching up on the RD still] Yeah, they were fun, and @Karen-W can mark this one down on her 90s country list.

There was a collision on the ice during the warm-up for Group 2 involving the Chinese team and the GER one. Everyone got up quickly, thankfully.

I didn't have my phone on me at the time, but it was comedy gold to hear Ted and Mark discuss whether the Germans' character step effectively told the story of the sinking of the Titanic.

I hope someone is closely monitoring C/Z and keeps that freak Dostatni from marrying them off.

Kouevi/Homawoo

nice twizzles, good unison, negative GOE on dance spin, big wobble and step out for him during One foot turns, nice basics. They're a young team with lots of time to develop more consistency

Hemcke/Sladkov

Titanic, nice diagonal steps, they look comfortable skating in hold, would like to see more extension, slow twizzles but good levels (4 for both), smooth straight line lift to rotational lift

Beznosikova/Leleu

nice spacing through the one foot turns, smooth flow and glide across the ice, nice precision to their movement, a little off sync in twizzles, good choreo slide move, great skate

Calhoun/Zheltyshev

Ted really butchering his name and then Mark says it with ease, level 3s on one foot turns, calm and controlled twizzles, they don't look like a new team except perhaps in lift entries, skating very together with nicely matched movement and nice spacing

Homick/Buelow

nice connection between the partners, she somehow makes laying on the ice graceful, first rate interpretation--elements are performed as part of the story, wobbly on twizzles from both, wonder how much that will cost them?

Bianchi/Basile

nice articulation of positions on straight line lift, nice speed across the ice, unison isn't quite there yet--which apparently bothers me more than the judges :P, good timing of choreography to music

Perrier Gianesini/Blanc Klaperman

crazy lift entry into straight line lift, interesting choreo in the choreo step sequence to bring out the Tarzan theme, good ice coverage, I found her interpretation a bit reserved today, no denying the quality, though, in their execution and skating skills, on to the JGPF!

Ted and Mark are talking about how ISU officials (like David Molina and Shawn Rettstatt) have been seeking input regarding possible future changes.

Now the skating begins...

He’s trying to attract people who are not already fans. It’s abundantly clear that he doesn’t care about what current fans want.
Just catching up now.

They (ISU) need to be sure that keeping the patterns isn't "appeasing" the current fans if the new fans aren't interested. So maybe we should just skip base hits and only count home runs in baseball, because base hits only appease current fans, without consulting with what new fans want.

Morons.
