JGP #2 - Czech Skate, Ostrava CZE - Women's SP & FS

Jang

Tiny jumps, lovely, classic position in flying sit spin, I’d review a lot of her jumps, disaster on final spin, not her day

ETA Ted says she has “smile of desperation” in k-n-c

Joos

Nice opening 2a-3t, could use more speed coming out of her jumps, regal and refined interpretation, dramatic positioning in choreo sequence, on to her senior season!

Sarina - this dress seems all wrong for this music. I feel like we should be hearing the Sabrina soundtrack not this dark, sombre piece. And she's starting to fall apart with a 1z, but she gets it back together for the next jumping pass. We'll see if the jumps hold up under review - if so, she should go into 1st, if not, she'll drop behind the top 3, I think.

ETA - tech panel did it's business and I was right - into 4th she goes.

Kinda think I should go back and watch Dibbern—must have been some skate!

Josephine brings us back to black with white accent. This is a very severe dress style - no crystals or stoning, high neck, open back, long sleeves with gloves, asymmetrical skirt with a white chiffon underskirt.

Well, so far, Josephine is going clean. We'll see what the tech panel thinks of some of those rotations though. She's hanging on for dear life on these last two jumping passes.

I can't see this medaling, but maybe the tech panel will surprise me.

ETA - Ted says the 3z was <; 2nd 3f was q - soooooo, she should go into 1st.

JOSEPHINE!!! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Loved the emotion of the last minute.
Looked very good. Hope she moves up.

166.54 would have been good enough for 5th last week. It may be good enough for 4th this week - but Kim, Gladki, & Uezono all have PBs that are higher and Wada is in 1st with an 8 pt lead to play with, so....

From what you all say Lee has had trouble interntionally. This is a big success for her. Stood up & most jumps got full score. I wonder if she can raise her tech level. Definately needs to got on podiums. Happy for her.

Lengyelova is dressed like a cheerleader at the Indy 500 and she's sassy enough to have an A on the front of her cheerleader sweater.

Oh, I'm in no way disparaging her result - it is a good one for her. I was just thinking in terms of the USFS telling all their singles skaters assigned to the first 4-5 JGPs that they will only be considered for a 2nd assignment if they medal at their first one.

Just got to the chiropractor, so I'll have to view vicariously through you all again. I do wish they'd be open on Saturday afternoons so as not to mess so much with skating. :drama:

Lengyelova

Punsulan/Swallow racing tribute program, though she probably encountered the music via Israeli and Swiss ice dancers from last season. Hard start with mistakes on jumps, nice 3f-2a-2a sequence, then more step-outs. Nice to see her explore a different style from her SP

Needed more cheer fingers :cheer2: .
Spirit fingers FTW!

Polina D from Hungary via Moscow is in a brown and red dress with some black and beige/gold accents. My mind is too fried to properly describe this thing, especially since she's skating to some operatic piece.

ISU bio says -
Cum Dederit by Armand Amar
Dear God by Lawless

And the feed freezes. I may be okay with this. Let's see if it comes back by exiting and re-starting the stream. Oh, yay, 30 seconds worth of ads. Nope, feed is still "loading" where it froze last time. Someone in Ostrava needs to plug the cord back in!

Dzsumanyijazova

Leaving a little outside the circle on 2a, but it was fine, then fall on 3z, and my feed decided to stop :(

Really? USFS said that? Wow. Well, won`t they end up assigning a 2nd to whoever does the best - medal or no medal. Don`t think Lee is a serious contender as a medaler with this content.
