Kind of a mixed bag of qualities from Tadeas. Some strong elements, but weaker in the presentation, and commitment to the choreography.

That was a joyous skate to match the music. Every element was very crisp, and easy to mark for the judges.

The first group has skated and the second one is on warm-up - I hadn't intended to get up so early ...
Feelin' ya. I fell asleep sometime between 9-10pm and woke up just after midnight, so I'm awake for the time being.

After 2 of 4 groups we have an ice resurfacing.

My :cat: has been playing innumerable rounds of fetch with the pull stopper from a milk carton through most of the 2nd group. He was probably more successful than most of them :(

Fedir's jumps were hit and miss, but he's got promise. Great speed, lots of personality. Mark's a fan!

And the final (4th) group is on the ice warming up.

Meanwhile my :cat: has tired himself out - the fetch object for the third group was a small foam ball.

Smagulov

red and black costume reminiscent of Star Trek TNG uniform

3a-1r-3s with an acceptable Euler, 3a spin out, fall on 3z and sorta slipped again getting up, jumps are a struggle today after the nice start, there's some conviction to his movement and choreography, nice engagement with music

Gotta feel like Incel is moving up

4t-3t landed the quad okay, but no speed and momentum and fell on the 3t; 4t looked short, really glad he's putting the quads out in competition, turned out of 3a--leaning out of circle; 3s is first element with positive GOE, somewhat shy in interpretation and expression, 3f-2a-2a, the easier triples are going okay until fall on 3r on next to last element. If you combined this kid with Elano, you'd have a fantastic complete skater. Still some work to do on the second mark, and of course, solidifying the technique will also increase the score

That tango music suits Lucius. Rough skate, though. He should get tips from Nik Memola on skating with super long legs. But looks like he did enough to stay on the podium!

How many skaters do Malinina and Skorniakov have now? Seems like Roman's in every other K&C! :)

Well, this has been a rough competition for Henry Gao altogether.
He was definitely a risky selection with only one good competition (Junior Cup) to speak of (DNQ to nationals and Cranberry Open didn't go well either). I suppose USFS decided they had enough spots this year to reward the best skaters at Junior Cup regardless of BOW, but didn't pay off here.

Takahashi, S.

3s stepped out, 3z-3t, 3a fall, beginning is just jumps with no linking footwork to speak of, 3a-2t nice comeback from rough start, 3f-2a-2a good, nice basics, but I didn't feel like this program looked fully cooked. Hopefully, he'll add more engagement as the season progresses

Playlist of individual skates:

I suspect @skatingguy will add some actual technical details which we all appreciate. All I've been able to report on is the :cat: action on the home front :)

After Ted talked so much about the band, etc. coming in, the camera appears to have been turned off :( Perhaps they will show some footage later?

That was a bad jump drill with music playing in the background. Yihe does have stretch on his camel spin, so maybe there's hope that he can take that to the rest of the program.
