We should be getting the Courchevel entries early next week!

Re-posting here from other threads:
Approved by ISA Board=Names now in Blue on ISA's updated spreadsheet:
Junior Grand Prix:
Aug 24-27, 2022 JGP #1 Courchevel, FRA: Simona Bhasin
Sep 07-10, 2022 JGP #3 Riga, LAT: Vlada Vasiliev; Julio Potapenko
Sep 28-Oct 1, 2022 JGP #5 Grenoble, FRA: Sienna Kaczmarczyk; Julio Potapenko; Young/Lewer & Golubeva/Giotopoulos Moore
Oct 05-08, 2022 JGP #6 Gdansk, POL: Vlada Vasiliev; Young/Lewer & Golubeva/Giotopoulos Moore
Golubeva/Giotopoulos Moore have been assigned to 2 Senior GPs - will they choose to move up to the big time?

===

Japan's JGP assignments:
JGP Courchevel: Shunsuke Nakamura (J6), Ryoga Morimoto (J7); Hana Yoshida (J4), Ayumi Shibayama (J6)

JGP Ostrava: Nozomu Yoshioka (J3), Haru Kakiuchi (J14); Mao Shimada (J1, N1), Ikura Kushida (J8); Nao Kida / Masaya Morita (J1); Haruka Murakami / Sumitada Moriguchi (new pairs team)

JGP Riga: Tudoi Suto (J16), Rio Nakata (J17, N1); Ami Nakai (J7)

JGP Yerevan: Takeru Amine Kataise (J4), Shunsuke Nakamura (J6); Hana Yoshida (J4), Mone Chiba (J3)

JGP Grenoble: Nozomu Yoshioka (J3); Mao Shimada (J1, N1); Nao Kida / Masaya Morita (J1)

JGP Gdansk: Tudoi Suto (J16)

JGP Egna: Takeru Amine Kataise (J4), Rio Nakata (J17, N1)

One Junior Men entry for JGP Grenoble, one Junior Men entry & one Junior Women entry for JGP Gdansk and two Junior Women entries for JGP Egna have yet to be decided.

Based on the WJC results last season Japan only had 1 entry in 7 events for Junior Women originally, now there're 11 entries in total. I assume it's Switzerland that gave up some spots.

(above was all written by @Gris originally in the JPN news thread)

Yes. They're a strong contender for a medal at SkAm. The field at Espoo is a bit deeper but they could still surprise with a medal. I'd say they have an outside shot at the GPF. Maybe not as much prize money, but they're certainly competitive enough for the GP.

Based on this IG post from the Letovs, it sounds like Will Annis is assigned to an early JGP?

Not surprising but for his sake I hope it's a slightly later one like Riga and not the first or second one. He looked pretty rough at Skate Milwaukee, I'm guessing because he was just coming back from injury or similar. He's certainly talented enough to have a good shot at making the final.

JGP Courchevel assignments are up on the USFS website :cheer2:: https://usfigureskatingfanzone.com/...23-international-assignments-and-results.aspx

Ladies: Clare Seo, Sarah Everhardt
Men: Michael Xie, Lucius Kazanecki
Dance: Pham/Rogers, Peals
Hmmmm... Little surprising that Neset/Markelov didn't get the first assignment, but maybe they want a bit more time to hone their programs. Pham/Rogers and the Peals have definitely earned their assignments though.

Wonder which JGP Will Annis has since we know he has one.

And, go Clare! May she have even better results this year in Courchevel than she did last year where she won bronze!

Same number of dance teams as last year's first event. Fradji & Forneaux are the 5th highest ranked team left from last year's Junior Worlds & France's top returning team. The Peals and Pham & Rogers were 3rd & 4th at 2022 U.S. Junior Nationals (the 2nd & 3rd highest-ranked remaining teams from that event). Khelifa & Zhu are Canada's 3rd highest-ranked remaining team from last year's Canadian Junior Nationals.

Lim & Quan did do last year's first event.

Pls Remind me- Is Lucas Broussard skating at sr or jr level this upcoming season? He was my absolute fave US jr guy last year…but not at Nationals, I think.
I also liked Will Ennis a lot.

No signs of Lucas Broussard. Maybe he’s going back to representing Luxembourg?

I replied to you in the U.S. Men's thread (Broussard is listed in the International Selection Pool): https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/u-s-men-2022-23-news-updates.109796/#post-6278674

USFS submitted the names of the top 10 finishers in singles at the U.S. Junior Team Cup in Milwaukee for the first JGP.

ETA:

JGP #4 Announcement is published: https://isu.org/docman-documents-li...rand-prix-yerevan-arm-announcement-final/file
"The Entries by names must be made ... not later than Friday, August 19, 2022 – 20:00 (local time Yerevan)."

Re-posting here from other threads (Canada has picked up an extra 3 men's slots in JGPs #3 to 5):
Selection to 2022 Jr Grand Prix and International Competitions (6 page document now linked from Skate Canada's NextGen page): https://skatecanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2022-Selection-to-JrGP-INT-COMM.pdf

Canada is eligible to send entries to the following competitions:

Courchevel, FRA 24-27 AUG: 1 man, 1 woman, 2 dance
Ostrava, CZE 31 AUG-3 SEP: 1 man, 1 woman, 3 pairs, 2 dance
Riga, LAT 7-10 SEP: 2 men, 1 woman, 3 pairs, 2 dance
Yerevan, ARM 21-24 SEP: 2 men, 2 dance
Grenoble, FRA 28 SEP-1 OCT: 2 men, 1 woman, 3 pairs, 2 dance
Gdansk, POL 5-8 OCT: 1 man, 1 woman, 3 pairs, 2 dance
Egna, ITA 12-15 OCT: 1 man, 1 woman, 2 dance
Interesting reading! According to this doc, neither Ruiter nor Bashynska/Beaumont, as 2021 JGP/Jr Worlds medalists need to compete in any of the Summer comps or this NextGen comp in order to be selected for JGP assignments - they're only subject to monitoring at their home rink.

JGP Grenoble [#5] moved to Gdansk
...
Is this the one originally scheduled for Croatia?
Yes - from ISU Communication no. 2466 (April 5, 2022):

ISU Junior Grand Prix Season 2022/23
Following the indication of the Croatian Skating Federation that it was no longer able to host the Junior
Grand Prix Event (including Pair Skating) on September 28 - October 1, 2022 in Zagreb, and having
reopened applications for this Event, the Council decided the Junior Grand Prix event (including Pair
Skating) on September 28 - October 1, 2022 will be held in Grenoble, France.

6th JGP: October 5 - 8, 2022 Gdansk, Poland (incl. Pairs)
Huge thanks to the Polish fed for stepping up and hosting 2 JGPs in a row like this!

I've been rooting for Chaima Ben Khelifa and Everest Zhu ever since I first saw their great names on a startlist somewhere, and they've really developed well over the last season or two. Also I'm not one of those people who shit on promising young ice dance couples for their small height difference, but Everest and Chaima really do have a nice height difference for the purposes of the sport. I hope they do well this season! The Canadian ice dance field is so stagnant and overcrowded, though...

Thire free dance was a snooze at next generation (so were a lot of the other ones). I hope they make some changes before the jgp.

Courchevel entries were updated today (August 1) - the only change I spotted was in the Women's list:

20 Sofja STEPCENKO LAT (replaced Nikola FOMCHENKOVA)

ETA on Aug. 2 - ice dance field is down to 11 entries with the removal of Beatrice VENTURA / Amedeo BONETTO ITA.
