You mean IdFGrids were updated, almost all the host spots were filled.
Ladies: Rika Kihira at NNK, Sofia Samodurova at RC, Lea Serna at IdF. Host spot at Finland still open.
Men: Sota Yamamoto at NHK, Kevin Aymoz at IdF
Pairs: Esbrat/Novoselov finally crossed out at NHK
Dance: Tweedale/Buckdale at SA (replacing Min/Gamelin I think?), Morozov/Bagin at RC, Galayavieva/Thauron at IdF (I didn't even know he had a new partner. Turkkila/Versluis also marked at Finland as new but I think we already knew that??

I’m happy for Sofia, but M/B over Shpilevaya/Smirnov, really?![]()
Morozov is using Bagin....I can only hope Morosov doesn't use up all his influence with the RuFed and saves some for Susie.

for what?? he can't even stand up?Morozov is using Bagin....
Not the son, the father or grand father is very important figure in the Russian fedfor what?? he can't even stand up?
After watching the test skates, it's clear that Morozova/Bagin getting the spot was pure politics. It was like they just started skating and learning the choreo two weeks ago.
Yes (ETA that she competed through the Novice level in the U.S). She then skated for France in junior singles before switching to ice dance.Im curious is this the same Annabelle Morozov that skated in singles in the US as a juvenile
Yes. She also skated for France in junior singles before switching to ice dance.
Her mother is French, her dad is Russian and it seems like she was living in the US a lot (if she wasn't born there), so I'm not surprised. It never ceases to amaze me how many countries dance and pair team can skate for until they find just the right partner.

I don't see what Annabelle Morozov is doing country-hopping. (Not that I think there's anything wrong with it, given how few opportunities there are in skating. No one is coercing the new member to accept them.) Plenty of skaters skate for the US or Canada when the are resident in the US or Canada before skating for their country of citizenship or other country of citizenship.
Why shouldn’t she switch if she can? In the USA she very likely had to pay for her training. When she skated for France, I don’t think that France funds skaters of her level either. So then she switched to skate for Russia, got to the nationals team and has it for free.I don't see what Annabelle Morozov is doing country-hopping. I believe so...She did compete as a child in the US.I’m curious is this the same Annabelle Morozov that skated in singles in the US as a juvenile, or do they just have the same name as I suspect. This is her at twelve.

That's a really remarkable statement on the state of US Ice Dance that that many teams could get two invitations to the Grand Prix (yes, post Olympic season, but still).
I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. And she has a legitimate claim to each of the three countries she has skated in/for (and even if she didn't, I wouldn't really care all that much, especially in pairs and dance where finding a partner is hard). But she has literally skated in three countries, so it's what she has done, regardless of the reason. Anyway, I was just trying to make a lame joke about how she is following in dear old dad's footsteps. Hopefully that's the only way she does.
Torn/Partanen out of GP Helsinki, Peltonen in for ladies, Koch/Nuchtern and Tessari/Fioretii are in for dance.
