IS ICE-DANCING A WORLD-WIDE DISCIPLINE?

They all could, but many don’t. At least not at the Olympic level. I’m sure that there’s lots of ice dancers even in countries that don’t have elite teams.

Yes in cold countries where ponds freeze and there is a tradition of skating for fun on natural ice.

Yes in countries where enough people have the interest and the money to build indoor ice rinks.

No in warm countries where there isn't a lot of money. It's too expensive to build rinks there and most people have other things to focus on.

In countries where rinks and figure skating is still pretty new and there are only a few rinks and only a few serious skaters, there may not be anyone who is training to compete in ice dancing. But if people skate for recreation there, the rinks probably play music and some recreational skaters who are comfortable on their skates may enjoy skating to the beat of that music. And some recreational may skate together holding hands or closer together, doing steps that they both know and feel comfortable doing together. Just for fun, not to perform or compete. That's how ice dancing started in the first place.

Oh,cause I was also wondering if there are countries that if you went to them and you mentioned Ice-Dancing were they wouldn't k now at all what you were talking about?
