In terms of achievements.

Witt has 2 Olympic Golds, but fewer Worlds titles, many fewer World medals, and fewer Olymipcs medals.

Dmitriev has 2 Olympic Golds with different partners, but many less World titles, and a much shorter career on top (really only 91 and 92, since he wasnt even really considered the top in 98 when he won with his other partner).

Kim has more Olympic success, especialy when she basically should have 2 golds, but many less World titles (5 to 2), and Savchenko's success with 2 partners sets her apart from a singles only skater.

Kwan is basically just a weaker Savchenko all around, both 5 World titles, Savchenko more World medals, GPF titles, Olympic medals, the Olympic Gold, and winning with 2 partners.

Asada without an Olympic Gold and fewer world titles also falls short of Aliona at this point.

Yagudin has 1 fewer world title, less Olympic medals, and a much shorter career.

Plushenko has more Olympic Golds and medals, but fewer world titles and a ton fewer world medals, and as I said with Kim, Savchenko being so successful with 2 pairs partners sets her apart from the singles only skaters.

In terms of just medals, Torvill/Dean are pretty clearly behind Aliona.

Gordeeva/Grinkov, Virtue/Moir, Gritschuk/Platov and Klimova/Ponomarenko are probably the ones with the best case of possibly having more success but Savchenko with her 5 World titles, Olympic Gold, 3 World titles, and success with 2 partners has a good case as well. K/P have fewer world titles (5 to 3) and the same number of Oly Golds and medals. G/P have 2 Oly Golds, but fewer Oly medals, 1 fewer world title, and a ton fewer world medals. V/P also have fewer World titles (5 to 3), and won the prestigious GPF a mere 1 time which is a large mark against them, and we will have to see if they win their 2nd individual gold or not.

This is just in terms of achievements/ success alone, not subjective rankings of who is best.

So is Aliona the most successful skater as far as medals and achievements since Rodnina?

I don't think you can compare across disciplines. Pairs and dance you can swap and dump partners as you please. Dance is almost much more political. Definitely cannot compare across eras. If you want to compare, I feel like there are several skaters from 1920s or so who have more accolades.

Isn’t her record almost exactly like Shen Xue’s?!?
Very similar. Xue and Hongbo have 3 World Titles to Aljona's 5 titles. Not sure about longevity, because Shen/Zhao were at Worlds back in 1993, missed in 1994, then were there almost every year afterward (minus 2005 and 2006). Aljona has been at Worlds every year since 2000, she was at Junior Worlds in 1998 and 1999.

Her Olympic record is identical to Shen Xue, but her Worlds record is far above with 5 World titles and 10 World medals.
