If you were an elite figure skater who would be your coach and choreographer?

I have thought a lot about this over the years if you were an elite figure skater, either in singles or Pairs or dance, who would be your coach past or present, and who would be a choreographer you would seek out?

All coaches and choreographers have the knowledge of today’s rules.

I would go with Kristi Yamaguchi‘s coach, Christy Ness. But I would seek input from interesting people along the way such as Heidi Biellmann and Christa Fassi.

I take the road less traveled I would like to self choreograph my programs, but a choreographer I would seek out would be Sarah Kawahara.

Be curious to hear some of yours….

I took from Frank as a skater and would go back in a heartbeat.

From the current crop I would probably say Raf.

For choreographers probably Lori, Shae-Lynn or MFD.

Tracy Wilson - she is just so supportive. And Shae-lynn.

As a pairs skater: Moskvina
As an ice dancer: Krylova or Svinin/Zhuk

But I am quite happy with my real coach back in the days who taught me so much on the ice and for life. She's a Polish powerhouse and has become one of my best friends.

Speaking of Orser, I haven’t seen him with a skater so far this season. Is he taking a break from coaching or coaching at competitions other than the GPs?

He was at Canadian Challenge with Kaiya Ruiter and Grayson Long - maybe others. Orser looked great and seemed happy in the K&C.

If I had the skills to be a skater, it was be in Ice Dance, so it would have to be Arribert. At the minimum, the programs and the music would be interesting, but it would also be neat to help to train up the little ones.

"Mad" is this context means "amazing" and yes Walia was responsible for Osmond's amazing skills.

It feels like Kaori's coaching team never gets much attention, which is probably a good sign in a sport full of grandstanding coaches. And she seems very comfortable and happy with them as far as one can tell, which is another good sign.

Kevin is so talented. I have a list of skaters for him to choreograph for. First up Rinka Watanabe. She has a 3A, she needs a fabulous program to make her shine.
