All I can say is based on the results of the poll so far, thank god posters on FSU aren’t in charge of music requirements or restrictions in skating,

Can you imagine Manta/Johnson's ice dance without "Sweet Dreams"? Or others, I can't think of right now?

There is good non lyric music but it also includes a bunch of crap music. Plus screeching violins or poorly tuned pianos.

It's not the lyrics or lack of lyrics. Good programs exist in either format.

Plus for as many "My way" or "Imagine" or other lyrics, there are as many or more of Four Seasons or Moonlight Sonata or Firebird. Or heaven forbid - sing, sing, sing which no one should ever skate to because the rhythm is to fast for anyone to do it justice.

Lyrics hasn't changed ice skating program contents. Content dictated by increase in # jumps, # of spins, # of footwork in a short time frame - so that ever single program seems to be identical has changed.
