I Have Got to Stay Out of Sephora (and other glamourpuss issues)

They no longer sell Fit me line in Croatia...
I am always on search for a proper concealer. I think MAC NW10 foundation is the perfect match for me which makes finding the concealer very hard. I cannot wait till Makeup for ever launches but am not sure they have concealer pale enough... I will have to go to Kryolan today to check it out. They have 20% off.

I lost my concealer from Clinique, which I wasn't that happy with anyway. Got a $6 maybelline fit me. Makes more sense if I'm going to loose it. It works ok - but I don't have a lot of concealer needs.

I use the Fit Me Concealer too. It's great, especially for the price.

I have a love/hate relationship with all concealer.

I love it for spot concealing and discoloration on the face but can never get it to work under my eyes without creasing.

Luckily, I don't have much dark circles under my eyes so I can usually skip it there.

I don't use it under eyes either, it just emphasizes the wrinkles and I don't have deep dark circles either. But for covering broken capillaries I use Benefit industrial strength. it works.

You can eliminate broken capillaries with a laser. My local Kaiser has one and it works. The price isn't outrageous: $80 flat fee, plus $1 per additional pulse. It usually takes one or two pulses for me. Had two areas done so far, very happy.

It's a vascular laser, the brand they use is Candela.

I use this for under my eyes, is is similar to the YSL Touch Eclat pen.

I only dab on concealer under my eyes if I have shadows below my fine lines. I mostly use it if I have a bump or small pimple or scratch on my skin.

I am kind of belong to the corrector only camp. I think corrector is way to go if you want to cover or decrease the appearance of dark circles or hyperpigmentation. Concealer I mostly use to brighten an area or to highlight under my eyes.
Right now there are several "concealers" that come in peach, bisque or salmon color that do correcting. However, in my opinion they are still correctors.

I have really dark circles under my eyes, made worse by my super bleach white skin.
I can live without concealer for my melasma (on my bloody forehead!) or my dark spots, but I NEED concealer/corrector for my dark circles.
I have a small collection, but I prefer MAC Pro Longwear if I'm applying at home and Benefit's Boiing when I'm on the go. I also really like MAC Vibrancy eye primer.
Have been trying Bobbi Brown's Pale Yellow powder for setting the whole thing.

I have the Clarins one but I feel like it just highlights and draws attention to the fine lines under my eyes.

So I don't use it.

This is me as well. I have a cocktail of correctors, concealers and powders that seem to work without looking too chalky. My favourite product is Benefit Erase Paste.

I tried laser some years ago (maybe even ten years ago?) and it hurt and didn't really work. Maybe should consider trying again. I have a derm appointment next month to look at at an odd patch near my eye, I'll ask her then.

It was. And it hurt, did I mention that? :)
Hmmm. I have no tolerance for pain and just thought it was unpleasant. It lasts about a second. Maybe they missed the target with you. The blood vessel should literally explode on the spot. It's not nearly as dramatic as it sounds.

I went to the mall to get my sister the Tarte mascara she likes as part of her Christmas present and managed to come home with stuff for me. :D Bought two new shadows- the aurora and the moondust. I fell in love with the new liquid lipsticks too, but of course they were sold out of the colour I liked (Amour) and won't have anymore in until next week. I like to check them out in store though, because I don't find the colours on their website are necessarily true to life - but I don't know if it is the website itself or my screen. For instance, that After Hours colour in the lipsticks looks more like a deep rose when I look at it online, but in reality it is a very bright pinkish cherry red.

I waited too long to get a manicure appt, so I had to do my own nails today. Aging eyes and delicate work don't mix. I did my left index with a gold metallic, intending to add some dark red polka dots before the top coat. My first "dot" was more of a blotch, so I ended up with two stripes of the red. I guess it sort of looks like an ornament or wrapping paper, so that's my story. (And why does nature call 5 minutes after the second coat of polish is applied? Happens every time.)

I don't follow trends as I tend to wear thrift store clothes, so I am always 5-10 years behind anyways. :shuffle:
But I do already wear ruffles, so when all the trendy people buy ruffled stuff this year, and then discard it in the next year or two, there will be more ruffley stuff for me to buy in the thrift stores. :cheer:

Fashion thread drift:

Some very welcome changes in trends in 2016. So sick of skinny jeans but not too crazy about really wide leg pants either. Nor about flat white boots. But others are great.

Seriously, furry slip-ons? :scream: No one looks good in those unless they are at home in their pjs.

Um. I was seriously considering these earlier today, thinking I could wear boots and slippers at the same time. Then decided, probably not: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/shoes-boots/37495991.jsp#/

I didn't realize dickies and Ukranian folk outfits were in.
Oh gawd. There was nothing but the Ukrainian vyshyvankas this summer. I didn't get one just because they were EVERYWHERE. :scream:
And I do lurve a patent leather shoe. So shiny. :swoon:
Not to worry. Yahoo screwed up because as I mentioned, Dior showed patent leather shoes for spring, so it's still cool. :glamor:

No-one with hips or thighs can wear them. I have some straight legs but prefer the wide leg look, very Kate Hepburn...and it balances out a tummy or big rearend. (I have thin legs but don't want to look like a football.)

I can wear skinnies and they are good for stuffing into winter boots but enough already. They've been around waaaaaay too long, I am so ready for another silhouette.
