A good skate for Lorine, and nice to have it happen on home ice. Her jump technique is so wonky, and overall skating is so stiff that it never allows us, the audience, to fully enjoy her performance.

126.86 = 1st Place

Schild just muscles through her jumps and her posture hasn't improved at all in the past few years. I used to think she had potential, but now I'm just indifferent to her because she hasn't really done anything to make herself a better skater since she hit the senior scene.

That the judges gave negative GOE to that 4toe - glad to see it. The judges are more and more giving negative GOE on rotation and edge issues before the calls come in, as it should be!

Love Rion’s power and this voidy program even if it is a repeat. 4t< obvious in real time but she stood it up. Checked all the boxes other than the 2S and L3 layback. Great to see such a happy program. She’s a joy.

I know this is a repeat program, but it's nice to see some quirky personality from Sumiyoshi. When she had to follow directly after Nakai yesterday, her SP felt a bit bland, but this was really joyful and interesting.

Credible attempt the quadruple toeloop, but still looked under-rotated. It's too bad she doesn't have a better jump layout, because she's giving away points by repeating the triple toeloop.

Oh, dear... @Private Citizen - I wasn't paying attention to Rion's hair during the warm-up... Someone needs to pull her aside and point out that sometimes, less is more.

I still hate her dress - it was ugly last season and it's still ugly. The program also still does nothing for me. Just watch one of the top 3 falter and we wind up with another season of Sumiyoshi making the GPF.
