I loveee Torgashev's skating but there's a whole lot of jump prep going on. At least 8+ seconds for the quads and even the Axel has a really big break.

This is more or less what Adam has been trying to do as far as interpretation in his programs. Such nice use of his entire body and really obvious changes of pace. Pretty cool and modern, maybe not the best vehicle to show off just how good his skating skills are, though.

Torgashev

4t, 4t-1t (sorta), 3a, he’s already landed more big jumps than I expected, not a lot of musical engagement, 3a-2a, 3z-1r-3s. Lively step sequence, Good redemption skate

Really strong skate for Andrew. The program is weird, and the two pieces of music don't really seem to connect, but he commits to the performance so it's an entertaining watch.

161.84 = 1st Place
233.36 = 1st Place

It's almost like when Pluschenko was skating all the Russian guys had to put super fast footwork into their programmes now with Chen and Malinin all the USA guys have to finish their programmes with fast music and weird moves. Torgashev made plenty but seriously had he just glided it would be more beautiful. His skating skills are to die for, his choreography is so bland

4T landed short and cross-footed. Probably << and gonna come away with very minimal points.

Still the long shot for ever getting up into the top level of Italian skating, and that technique of flinging himself into the Axel and Sal isn't helping. He still has a charisma about him but Candeloro he is not. Except for crazy jump technique I guess.
