Glamour Puss thread: Sephora, I wish I could quit you...

I’ve been sicker than I’ve ever been in my life and have been in hospital three weeks, hopefully going home tomorrow. Needless to say I look horrible.

If anyone can suggest a dig-her-up-from-the-dead emergency skin and hair treatment kit that isnt hard to use (I can’t sit up for long) I would be grateful.

@PRlady I hope you feel better soon. I've been using Differin on my face (I used it every other day to start, now every third day), and my skin is so smooth and makeup looks amazing on it. It's in the acne care section at Target. Highly recommend.

My hair is falling out again, so I have no suggestions for hair at this time.

:(

I don’t have oily skin -more combo. Would it help withHospital Skin?

I don't have oily skin anymore. that's a nice side effect of chemo. I used it to smooth my skin out. Just be sure to use sunscreen!

Trying to go the fungal acne safe way, for at least a while, after a bout of seb derm that had even my ear lobes peeling off :scream:.
Realized that my newly beloved CeraVe is the most likely culprit. Glycerin is absolutely everywhere.

I have 3 different discounted highligther kits/palette's in my Sephora shopping basket, someone send help. Highlighters are my weekness, I love to inappropriately sparkle. I have enough. Really. but the $29 for the 4 mini custom FX highlighter/enhancer drops are *really* tempting.

If in 2019, you plan to grow another head - go ahead with the purchase :D
Who am I to judge?
I am too weak to count the amount of my lipsticks so carry on!

What do folks recommend for a Vitamin C serum? I’m approaching 40, combination skin that can be a bit sensitive/acne prone if that matters (e.g., I pretty much can only wear mineral sunscreens on my face). Thanks in advance!

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic is my favorite. Pricey though.

Derma E and Mad Hippie have very good vitamin C serums. If you are in US (or Canada), I think they seel those brands in those more green stores, but they are also on iherb.com
I was using a Croatian brand vitamin serum during summer and my face was radiant. Now I am battling breakouts and scaring
so I am less impressed with my face overall.

I did, however, use Black Friday 30% off to buy Lisa Eldridge approved skin massager. I cannot wait to start using it tonight while watching Grand Prix.

Highlighters are my weakness too.

I just saw that Becca is coming out with a new one for 2019 based on the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Pig and it's just the right shade of peachy pink that I like in highlighters. :wall:

The Becca highligthers are great, they blend well IMO!

I ended up getting the cover fx drops, ofc I ordered the other day so Im missing out on any Black Friday items I could add (even if I didn't need them) and extra Ebates cash back, but oh well.

I love the powder versions. I own a variety of shades mostly in the mini size.

My favorite is Rose Quartz. :glamor:

Least favorite is Moonstone because it doesn't seem to show up on me but I've recently found it looks nice over Champagne Pop which is slightly too dark for me (it's a sample.)

I have a deluxe sample of the Cover FX drops that I haven't tried yet.

I will have to break into that soon.

I’ve been using Peter Thomas Roth Potent C Power Serum. It was recommended to me at Sephora and has vitamin C + vitamin E in it. Bit of an odd smell to it, but that dissipates quickly, and I feel like it’s working well on my skin. It’s pricey, but not as much as the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic.

The FX highlighter drops are my favorite. I have Sunlight and Moonlight and looking to buy another shade. I just mix one drop into my 2nd coat of facial sunscreen and it gives an amazing glow and still show skin. Of course you can add more drops and look metallic, lol.

PRlady, I hope you’re feeling even just a teensy bit better. Have you considered the FX drops to mix in with moisturizer to get a glow while your skin recovers? I wish I could recommend skin care products. I’m somewhat of a newbie with anything more than Olay...

I've been doing so well not buying makeup this year - I have enough makeup to last forever - but not only did I buy that highlighter set, Colourpop extended their sale, and I brought too liquid red lipsticks, one neutral and one warm as my favorite red lipstick form them is cool and look odd with my hair now its orange/red (and warm toned?). I also got 2 palettes, I mean they were so cheap and I love the one palette I have from them and then I also got free shipping...

I *could* say these were Christmas gifts, but then I had to admit I got them and explain, or they could just quietly be added to my makeup pile...

I must be the only person in the universe who can ruin nails while sleeping. I did Sally Hansen faux gel yesterday. The color, 809 Slate-r Girl, is a really rich charcoal gray with just the barest hint of a purple undertone. It looked great for 6 hours! I guess I didn’t do a good enough job making sure the tips were properly sealed with the top coat, so I have feathering on at least 3 nails. I guess I know what I’ll be doing during Tallinn Trophy!

My nails/hands are pretty horrible from the bookstore anyways, but I do try to put polish on most of the time. It’s generally nice for an hour, the hour where I hold my hands up in the air not touching anything. I have often woken up to have the bedding marks on my nails.
I’m only a wanna be glamour puss. :shuffle:

I have a new plan for using my makeup.

I have 5 really nice palettes and I plan to choose a different one each week and use it for a full work week of eye looks before moving on to the next.

I wonder how long I will be able to keep it up. :shuffle::lol:

I also need to come up with a way to rotate more through my highlighters.

That is harder to do because I adore a couple and want to wear them all the time and the rest I just like okay.

I try to make sure my nails are super dry before I go to sleep. Top coat, drying sprays, oils, you name it.
I'll still sometimes wake up to them textured from the sheets...

I’m a little better and the VIB starts Friday.

I’m in worse shape beauty wise than ever. I’ve lost about 14 pounds and my face is gaunt. My skin from head to toe is dry and pale. My hair is dry. I look 90 years old around the lip line. I’d spend some serious VIB $ because I haven’t bought anything at all in six weeks but don’t know what to get.

((@PRlady )) I am not sure how much it actually helps (since I keep my skin hydrated af at all times!), but I got a sample of the belif overnight moisture mask, and I did like how it made my skin feel.

I also recently got a sample of the Clinque Vitamin C serum - it comes in little bottles you open and then you have to use it within 7 days. I liked that one, but tbh the excessive packaging makes me not want to buy it on a regular basis.
I got this when I went to ULTA and brought some clinique stuff in person.
