Maybe CS CHN not counting as CS is German fed‘s loop hole to get another event for Schott/Isaev getting scores.

Fair? Not imho - but as they appear to be the only contenders for a potential spot…🤷🏼‍♂️

I feel like the Olympic spot is Schotts to loose and I really hope she can forget about CHN and pull out to clean skates in the next competition and get that elusive 172 points.
After re-reading the nomination criteria it looks like they will also add Euros if nobody get the scored until after Nationals.

Schott cannot really do another challenger, Austria is at the same time as NHK and Golden Spin is at the same time as Nationals. So there is only Warsaw left - unless she goes to the Denis Ten Memorial next week (and I can't imagine that).

So Schott got a 2nd GP - lucky girl. One more chance meeting criteria.
Means 3 weeks competition in a row 💪

Hatakawa is out of CS KAZ. I have no reasons why but somehow I am relieved.
This rushing into seniors (while still struggling in juniors) makes no sense for me.
I wonder how Suleymanova will look like. Her last outings were :yikes:

Minerva Hase was posting a lot about the flights from Moscow to Vancouver via instagram. There was plenty of delays and the total travel time was horrible 27 hours. They even needed a second PCR Test on arrival because the one from the start lost its validity.

Not the best circumstances for their 5th GP.

Outings from CS KAZ Women SP today 😕

Suleymanova, 49.98, 6th

Isaev 47.63, 7th

Not much new on Nargiz for me; overall skating seems still kinda laboured. Lucky on PCS.

Not sure what to think of Isaev's outing. IIRC it was reported that she was injured, but that felt pretty cautious. Choreo felt kinda generic and she was constantly kinda behind the music and not hitting musical accents. And I have no clue why Huth isn't there but Dierking?

They were flawless. No questions at all at the lift!

Should have been placed second.

The Russian skate was hard to watch.

I just watched and Minerva Fabienne (I love that name) and Nolan really did very well. It was beautiful to watch.

CS 🇰🇿

Isaev, 135.62
Suleymanova, 136.99

Tbh - I am really :yikes:about Isaev's FS. The costume, the choreo, what is this program? She totally lacked attack and seemed cautious af. To me, she really was on such a good way lately Sczypa, this feels 3 steps backwards.

I know it always needs some time, but some early thoughts on DEU's elite team project? :shuffle:

Euros/Olympic Race Update:

NOC standards achieved:❌

Hmpf. Cautious skate by H/S. Another 5th palce finish on GP stage. Door was open to get a medal. A shame they could not hold on to the momentum. They are still kinda SP skaters. Step by step.

True. At least they are very stable. The GOEs in the FP were by far too low. They are outscored by the rest of the world class pairs even if the others make mistakes.

Looks like Dortmund has a good program for Ladies right now.
10 year old Anna Gerke is in 2nd place after the short program at NRW trophy having scored 40.46 points.
She did a clean 3Lo, 3T+2T and 2A in the short.

overall that that bad from the German novice ladies. for a lot of them is the first international competition and at least there are several attempted triples and 2A.
Lets see if the Junior Ladies have improved.

... and will be send to Beijing anyway
With the results to date I am not sure - but we discussed before the team event might work ok her favor.

I am ambivalent here. For me she secured spot last season but well criteria is for this. And NOC is Kinda strict in other sports.
Let’s just wait… and see what nationals inflation will come up :D

Just catched up with H/K: Holy cow. I really hope, they overcome whatever it is.
It's just two years, when the made the JGPF. Two different teams.

Once more an absolutly desasterous SP by Hocke/Kunkel. Every element except the lift went wrong. Their technical issues become worse the longer they skate. I literally have no words. Seems like they need another Coach.

Schott might be ill and to me she does not receive the PCS she deserves. But her jump technic has not improved over the years. She leans forward after every jump. Really every! That is why the 3T+3T usually goes wrong. I remember her falling due that reason at worlds 2017! I just cannot understand why she has not worked on that over the years.

This is was a frustrating day for German skating.
