It makes me sad to see his career end this way. But I'm sure he's ready to move on.

Very rough outing for the ladies. The distance to place 12 (2nd) spot is really close, early starting numbers do not help of course. Come on girls, you can do that! Place 13&15 will do! Get your act together! Attack girls, attack! :drama:

M/D will be on fire at home.

This is one of the most miserable and poorest Euros for German skating ever!

I am very gutted, for both M/D and K/N, especially M/D who gave them a run for their money this season.
When Joti even appeared sick at the start of the week, was there no time (left) / visa / .... to get M/D in just in case?
That really sucks.

Hope Joti gets healthy again quickly and they can bounce back at olympics!

Goodbye Peter. Sochi SP was insane and definitly the German Figure skating highlight since Lindemann 2004 (If you take S/M away).

Koster´s costume is the worst I have ever seen. Sorry.
 
Someone has updates on Isaak Droysen?
He was absent at junior nationals and is not on the roster of Bavarian Open.
 
I was quite impressed with Nicole Schotts LP (too bad about the bad SP), I found her presentation rather weak and dull the last couple of seasons, but the LP this year was really well choreographed (even if not particularily original) and she did a good job bringing it to life :)

Not too crazy about Dastich, she really has a lot of work to do in the presentation area and she looked awfully slow in comparison to Schott after her.

Number 2 and 3 of the Ice Dancers are going to Torun. So there might be one last chance for either M/P or B/L to become the second German team that makes it to Junior Worlds.
 
I haven't watched, yet, the various disasters in Men and some in Pairs.
According to this article in FAZ, Aliona got mixed up in the entry to 3FTh, and therefore fell: She took the entry to 3ATh :eek:, with which she ended up with a lack of speed.

Seriously? She may be the oldest (female? How old is Zhang?) competitor in the figure skating competition, but she hasn't reached the stage of dementia yet, has she? #geriatricseason

Sorry. I was just trying to be funny. Guess it didn't work out well:)
But the entrance to the 3a is quite different from the flip, isn't it? Ok, better here than when it counts for real!
 
In the meantime I've watched their SP on German telly. She said afterwards, that during warm-up , they practiced 3Ath and 3FTh (wtf???). That's the reason, she got mixed up. Her head wasn't in the right game. She realised it during setup for the element.

I thought, the 3ATh was off the table for the SPs. Aliona will get her throws sorted, I reckon.

It is a matter of bad preparation/coaching. You shouldn’t be confused by the time the Olympics roll in. They sure can do both throws, confusion arise from bad planning.
 
I can't imagine any coach would recommend you make the decision which throw you're doing after the Olympic warmup. I thought coaching 101 was all about being clear with your plan weeks before so you can train and lock everything into muscle memory.

Such a weird error....although Canada thanks you.
