He probably will not return when he leaves for training camp with a specialist whose name I cannot recall ATM. Seems like the departure of EI was just the beginning. Will Plushenko then only be left with YL and DM? Who are his other coaches? He seems too erratic and emotional.

After the big investment in the new rink (training center) and cottages, it’s not going so well for Plush.

That’s disappointing for the Velikov’s. The departure of two top teams. She doesn’t seem particularly happy and is disappointed that they didn’t say anything while Vasily was working on programmes for them. I understand they did a lot of work with M/G but I’m not so sure they would have been a world champion under them. Moskvina really added a lot of sparkle, finesse and pizzazz to them, they felt like a different couple this season.

I know she is not everyone’s favourite but I’m looking forward to the return of Mozer. I felt a more likely announcement may have been the split of A/K, they had a rough season but did well at Junior nationals.

This particular interview is with Ludmila Velikova not Vasily. Is there another interview by Vasily as well?

Oh, I don't know about K/B's decision. Fedor is doing good work and he might work well for A/K, but I really wish K/B had stayed with them another season.

Is this an issue with the Velikovs or is it just better circumstances elsewhere? Guess none of us know probably. Just so strange, they went from having all the top junior teams to this total exodus. Do they have anyone left?

That's not uncommon. They develop them as juniors and they move on as seniors. I just don't think K/B are ready to move on after one season.

About the Olympics
Zhulin: No need to forget about everything, put all behind and think only about the Olympics. No need to think of something huge and sensational in choreography or music choice. No need to train 15 hours a day. It's an utopia, I have been there myself. When we were preparing for Lillehammer Games, I started training for 5 hours instead go the usual 2,5 and I was not a young boy by then, I was 30 and dying on the second day of the training week. So it's important to think about the quality of your practices, not quantity. I think in order to save our heads, we will start really focusing on the Olympics but October/November.
Victoria: I think we, our team, should work and focus all together on the season as a whole
Nikita: To enjoy the season, everything, not just the fact that we will make it to the Olympics. To enjoy the whole process.

Then comes moments from their old practices in Novogorsk, 5-6 years ago

Nikita: You can't be cool on your own. You have to help and understand each other. We came to the understanding of who we really are on the ice only 3-4 years ago.
Zhulin: I have always found them promising. I just didn't know if it was possible to get the emotions out of Vika. I have known Katsalapov for a long time, back when they were skating with Ilinykh. And with him we had to tame his emotions, to calm him down. I think in these 3 years we managed to create a great team. Nikita is way more quiet and reserved, he now does a lot for his partner. In the past he was always competing with his partner - 'who is the best one?' but it's not good for a duo. The best male partners - Dean, Moir - have always complemented their partners, made them shine and stayed visible at the same time.

Vika says she can't relax and let it go until the very end of the season. Zhulin adds that it was a hard year - injuries, c19 and etc.
About the Michel Jackson FD - the program didn't look like a complete thing, there was no right ending. The lyrical part was beautiful, but the last one didn't suit. It was my mistake.

Nikita and the twizzles - Zhulin asked him to 'suck his belly in' and calm down in order to stabilize the second twizzle.

The guys said they simply knew there wasn't enough time to practice the new FD, so the decision to return their last year's FD was the only right one. Nikita says they had their best skate at Worlds both regarding the elements and emotions.

Elena Tchaikovskaya still consults and helps them from time to time. They appreciate the team they have now, understand each other without words and etc.

Oh, come on. It was not that bad. .....alright, it wasn’t great, but there are worse things than listening to Malade....
