Plushenko's announcement about Trusova and 4loop.

Fans have no doubt that Trusova is working on and is capable of doing a quad loop. Fans also know that Plushenko is a bragger, often exaggerates and is now hell-bent on proving he is a better coach.

Last few days he posted on IG practically EVERY quad and jump combo that Trusova performed. The last one was 4-lutz.

prior to that it was 4T (i think i posted it in Russia #36).

Yet he has not posted any videos about the supposed attempt of quad loop. People simply don't believe him.

Learning a new quad from scratch takes preparation for several weeks if not months. The training resumed less than 1 week. Nobody doubts Trusova is working on her quads and 4L and will eventually try it on ice, but not at this speed.

She may have started working on it before she went to Plushenko. As we know she is a fast learner, being one of the First Ladies to land multiple quads.

Wow, this is such a surprise! I’m so happy for her. It feels like just yesterday, I was watching her in Sochi - where has the time gone? :)

She’s only 21 right? That’s very young to have a baby already! It’s cute that she and Elena are both having babies around the same time. :) They can take a break from teaching those skating camps together.

That's not young for Russia. I follow gymnastics too, most Russian gymnast have babies before they are 25.

Looks like Sinitsina/Katsalapov and Zahorski/Guerreiro (and I assume Skoptsova/Alyoshin as well) are back on the ice

Sinitsina/Katsalapov are currently skating at the “Moskvich” rink, but their regular rink ‘Laura’ will open on June, 23rd

Lip's 22. Russians tend to have kids early. When my Russian colleagues found out I was having a kid at 38, they were pretty shocked. Things are changing in big cities, at least from what I gather. But still, 22 is not unusual at all.

The article also says "... in the presence of spectators, if there are no emergencies, the General Director of the FFKK Alexander Kogan..."

There is still no certainty when the test skates of the junior national team of Russia will be held, the general director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan told RIA Novosti .
Junior rentals, where skaters show the programs of the new season, are usually held in early August at the base in Novogorsk, Moscow Region.
ETA:
Whats going on?
Much ado about nothing.

"A specialist working with an athlete of the Russian national team automatically becomes the coach of the national team, so Yevgeny Plushenko received this status, President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Gorshkov told RIA Novosti." https://rsport.ria.ru/20200616/1573021441.html

Elena Vaytsekhovskaya's interview with Zhulin `I want to try a new style' for rt.com (published 2 June)
...
EV: You might as well keep the programmes...
AZ: We plan keeping the SD. The FD, I think, will be a new. We skated that programme for 6 times last season. The new season is pre-Olympic, so we want something new, I want to try a new style.

EV: Do you have some ideas?
AZ: There are plenty of ideas, I wish I could implement them.

So Brian Orser is a national team coach.

The media people want to depict Tutberidze as saying he wasn’t deserving but she’s annoyed at being asked all the time about plushenko

I think a transition to pairs is smart. If you like a lady skater you will hopefully get many years of enjoyment of her skating if she transitions to pairs. There's always a risk that the ladies singles who don't make the very top will quickly disappear from the sport.

I suppose given the depth of field, a lady that is generally strong in all aspects of skating but maxes out at 3lutz3toe (i.e. no 3axel or quad) does not quite stand a chance at making Euros, Worlds and the Olympics for Russia, esp since there are already 3 other world champs who have or do not have these jumps that are already waiting in line. So if she does not feel like she can get a 3axel or quad in time or does not want to risk injuries, but is not content with just going to GPs and challengers til she retires - switching to pairs is a smart choice. She already has the flexibility for pairs, and unlike other pair girls who would have switched earlier, she already has the harder jumps.

If she and partner can nail SBS 3lutzs and 3flips she can possibly make it just in time for 2022 BJ Games. If they can pull off 3lutz3toes, then let's see where this will take them. Wondering if they made good use of these 3 - 4 months off ice to gel on their pair elements...

She just turned 22 :)
I immediately thought of Elena Ilinykh when I heard the news! Who would’ve thought they’d end up having babies so close together? It’s adorable!

So good to see this. Wishing them good spirits and productive work! And glad to see Tiff and Jon re-united as well.
I really like Tiffani’s hair. In my opinion, the blonde suits her so much better than her usual ginger or red.

She looks great either way. But I like the red. It helps her stand out.
The ginger is just copycat from Khokhlova, and in my view it doesn’t look that natural on her (although still better than the really red one).

just putting a word in for the red, though I also like the blond. Not everyone can pull that red off so if you can, like Tiff can, I think it's good to go for it!
