Fall 2024-Summer 2025 New/Returning/Streaming/TV Shows

I 100% agree with you on this. I thought Sherlock was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the Victorian outing, The Abominale Bride. And at that time it was indeed a fresh new take on the character and did a very good job creating a Holmes for the 21st century.I've re-watched it several times. But it definitely kicked off the trend for 'new takes' and 15 years on from Sherlock I am ready for a traditional one again.

I do agree that it's time for a more traditional TV/film adaptation of ACD's works. I suppose even Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock movies, while set in the Victorian era, weren't strictly true to the source material, though I loved them.

I just started watching American Love Story and I'm convinced that Naomi Watts as Jackie Kennedy Onassis is the worst acting I've ever seen, ever.

I’ve been posting about Love Story some on here. There’s issues with how the JFK Jr., Carolyn Bessette, and the Kennedy family have been presented.

When Ryan Murphy’s stuff is good, it’s really good. When it’s ridiculous, it’s beyond ridiculous.

But I’ve seen seven episodes. I’m too committed. I have to see the final two episodes and finish this! 😆

I planned to only watch one episode of The Madison and save the other two. Yeah, that happened. I laughed. I cried. I was WTF? I've watched Sheridan's other new series, the Marshalls, a spin off from Yellowstone. It's not written by Sheridan and when compared to The Madison, it's blatantly obvious and really not good. But, the Madison is so well written and acted, even the kids. And, now I don't have any new episodes to watch until next weekend. :drama:

Watched the first two episodes of Wonder Man and love it! Mind you it is so far more drama than superhero flick but still love it! I can remember being that desperately unemployed once! LOL

Finished Wonder Man and it is sooooo good!!! Refreshing to have an entire season drop all at once. Yahya Abdul-Mateen and Ben Kingsley are golden together!

Here’s great news for fans of Wonder Man: It’s been renewed for a second season.

I am really pleased with HBO MAX right now because 2 shows I like to watch, The Pitt, and Rooster, both air with no commercials after an initial 90 second ad. I have the subscription that includes commercials so this really feels like a bonus.
