Euros 2025 - Rhythm Dance: ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme A Mohawk Before Midnight’

So is there no more level 4 with the pattern steps?
With Compulsory Dance now being so far in the past, the Rhythm Dance requirements only including a sub-section of a randomly chosen pattern dance, the demise of Key Points for the pattern, and the change of emphasis to a theme rather than an actual rhythm all the teams are now just phoning in the pattern steps. I thought the Finns maybe also deserved Level 3 but otherwise, when compared to the criteria, the calling was probably fair. Or to put it another way, I don't personally think any of the teams deserved L4.

I was less than whelmed by the whole event. Even the teams I normally enjoy watching made it look difficult.

Wait, I thought this was Selevbro the elder's music.

ETA: And in fact this is Selevbro the elder, but he's got a new shirt.

Yeah, I complained about this before. This particular pattern isn't that hard and all these teams are fully capable of doing those steps to a level 4. But they don't bother. Someone here said they don't need to as the GOE is what really gives them the points. I guess it makes sense -- it is a competition after all so you should use strategy -- but it bugs.

Indeed. I was able to stumble my way through Paso with the help of a coach, so definitely shouldn't be challenging for an elite skater. So yeah, it bugs me too.

I can do chasse, pas de bouree, glissade, assemble (even if I can't spell them), in both directions, which Balanchine considered the "like brushing teeth" of ballet, but that doesn't mean I can do that combination correctly.
