I like to listen on my morning run so I go through them quickly. right now on my playlist I listen to Science Friday, No Such Thing as a Fish, Milk Street, Grammar Girl, 30 for 30, The Sporkful, The Allusionist, Gastropod, Flash Forward, and the 5am Miracle, and Radio Cherry Bomb. When I have a long car ride, I like fiction, but most are on my daughter's device but these are on mine: Wooden Overcoats, ars Paradoxia, Wolf 359, The Penumbra Podcast, and more.

I resisted podcasts for so long, but I just listened to a 5-part series on the history of Husker Du produced by NPR, and it was great. Now looking for other podcasts to enjoy!

I mostly listen to historical podcasts, but for something different I enjoy Oh No Ross and Carrie- who investigate claims of the paranormal and fringe science ("So you don't have to"). They did a brilliant 8 part investigation into Scientology a while back, also they do fad diets, investigated the 911 truthers, alien conferences, and the like. Right now they are with some Flat Earthers.

I don't have anything to really contribute, but I am going to watching. I work nights (at least for another week, I got a new position that starts at the end of November) and I am always looking for something to listen to. So....keep those good suggestions coming!!!

What app do you listen to your podcasts on? I have a Samsung so I started using the app Castbox - they seem to have everything that itunes has.

I have both Stitcher and Sound Cloud on my phone. Those seem to catch most things when people make suggestions.

Among the historical podcasts I listen to (because I am a history uber)-

As mentioned before- Stuff you Missed in History class is fun and very quirky in its topics- it really covers everything from Cleopatra to NASA.

At the opposite extreme is Dan Carlin's Hardcore History- which only comes out with an episode every few months. They can be over 4 hours in length and often cover really "heavy" topics- his series on WW1 is not always easy to listen to, but it's epic.

Mike Duncan's History of Rome, and his ongoing Revolutions podcasts are among the best around for historical detail, and very entertaining. His coverage of the little known Haitian Revolution is particularly interesting, I thought. He's up to the 1848 revolutions now.

On the lighter side- really fun listening, yet really informative are The Rex factor- which "rates" all the Kings and Queens of England and Scotland to find out which one has the "Rex Factor" ie is the standout monarch. Totalus Rankium is doing the same thing for the Roman Emperors- they are just hitting the playoffs right now.

I am also enjoying David Crowther's History of England, which is up to the Tudors now. He also has a great sense of humour.

I also like Second Decade, which has stories from the period 1810-1820, one of my favourite periods in history.

Also I like You Must Remember This, which is about Hollywood history in the 20th Century. She has had some fascinating topics, including a series on the Manson family, on Hollywood at war, Dead Blondes, and one contrasting the careers of Jean Seberg and Jane Fonda through the 1950s and 60s.

Beer Burden update: What is everyone listening to these days?

To none of the US podcasts I used to listen to back then, except for Preet.

I started listening to the Rachel Maddow Show because I think she's doing an amazing job at getting to the real stories out there but parts are heart wrenching, especial the frontline medical testimonials.

On a much lighter side, I also listen to The Soaps in Depth which often makes me laugh out loud and tennis shows like Behind the Racquet, The Body Serve (which also discusses gender and race issues in tennis) and Tennish.
