Great to hear from Meryl. She is always so articulate. I'm glad she's getting the opportunity to explore different interests and is also getting to do broadcast work.

Meryl is so well spoken - love watching/listening to her interviews. And kudos to Ashley Wagner for starting this new web interview series! I think she has a good energy for it.

Charlie and Tanith skated together at Christmas on Ice. :rollin:Doesn't look like the honeymoon is over. Adorable, or adorablest?

I know all the skaters love performing in Japan because the fans are so great, but can't we get a few law-breakers in there, too? I want video!

He and Meryl have gone on to Oman now (She's got some cool video in her insta-stories if you can catch it before it expires). Nice life!

On Charlie's Instagram Stories today, he and Meryl were at the venue in Oman where they will be performing and Die Fledermaus was playing in the background. Wonder if they will be performing to that piece?

It looks like a beautiful venue. I hope someone posts videos. :)

I want to know how one gets an ice rink on a stage in grand opera house. Is this real ice or that fake stuff? That would be a strange point of view. I wonder if they get to skate the whole Die Fledermaus or just the Waltz section. So many burning questions!!!🧐

ETA: It looks like there is skating and singing going on and there are other operas or musicals in addition to DF.

It may be fake ice, i.e. glice.

Real ice was laid down the last time there was an ice show at the Royal Opera House Muscat (December 2014): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-duygxwl20

This was the press release for Meryl/Charlie's appearance in Oman back on Dec. 20-22, 2018: https://www.rohmuscat.org.om/en/media-centre/press-release-detail?i=109
(Jeremy Ten was one of the ensemble skaters.)

Charlie was in Florida recently, working with James/Cipres on their FS before Europeans.

Meryl & Fedor attended the "Gold Meets Golden" event in West Hollywood earlier today: https://www.instagram.com/p/BsRQYnUgJ-F/

ETA: Meryl's current IG stories include glimpses of her with Nastia Liukin, Adam, Mirai & actresses Chrissy Metz, Octavia Spencer & Jessica Chastain.

ETA #2 - Meryl is in this big group photo between Tai Babilonia/Randy Gardner and Nastia Liukin with Michelle Kwan to their right: https://www.shutterstock.com/editor...-sunset-los-angeles-usa-05-jan-2019-10048160i

If it is a combined points and placement thing, H/D more or less have it in the bag for this year.

Loved Charlie’s commentary during the FD. He had some good insights and always found positives in every program. Charlie and Ben work well together. And I appreciate that Ben made Charlie laugh because he has one of the best laughs on the planet

Ben and Charlie really were fun to listen to, they have a true bromance and they LURVES talking ice dance.

USFS posted a nice photo of Tanith, Ben, Meryl, Charlie, and Punsalen/Swallow at the medal ceremony tonight.

I thought Charlie did a good job providing commentary last night during the pairs and ladies short programs. Combine that with his choreography getting kudos it was a good day to be a Charlie fan
Apparently it was also a great day to be a Baby Charlie fan. :saint:
They sat at a table at a press conference — the top three ice dance teams at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships after the rhythm dance Friday in Little Caesars Arena.

“Baby Charlie!” Madison Hubbell screamed, stopping the press conference and pointing at a woman holding a baby at the back of the room. “Baby Charlie!”

Tanith Belbin, a five-time U.S. Champion, was holding her baby, Charlie, the son of Charlie White, a six-time U.S. Champion.

“Baby Charlie!” Madison Chock screamed, pointing at the child. [...]

After the press conference ended, the three teams came off the podium and started to dance together, hamming it up for a video camera. [...] Then, they went looking for Baby Charlie.

Meryl replied that they aren't skating. But I think they will be presenting the new dance trophy named for them at the gala, right?

Oh wait, that tweet and reply were regarding the opening ceremony, so never mind.

The Detroit Alumni number could include half the skaters and commentators this week. Probably half the audience, too. :p

According to the following article, the trophy will be presented during the Skating Spectacular show:
