Wouldn't Nathan be arrested if he and Alina were a couple? I'm just trying to make sure people understand the ramifications of that liaison.

I guess it would depend where it would happen. In some countries they don’t have the age of consent. But if in the future Nathan wanted to coach in the USA, it could catch up on him years later.

ETA: Actually, he is only 20 and she is 17. I can’t see that it would be a problem if they were in a relationship! (I still had her in my head as 15/16 year old, which is impossible if the Olympic season was two seasons ago).

They may see her as traitor anyway, eventually. 3A are in seniors, Kanysheva could move up to seniors the next season, or if she is not ready yet, the season after. Valieva will be there too. It will be overcrowded and the weakest will go. My bet is that in a year or two, the weakest will be Zagitova. No one seem to be able to manage this level for longer than three years. It is hard to get to the top, but even harder to stay there. And the older the skater is, the harder it becomes. And I don’t mean it in any bad way, but a year or two ago I was saying that Tsurskaya will be gone and Panenkova too... and then they were gone. They were the weakest ones from that group and they couldn’t manage any longer.

I've been talking about it for a while now and in SS section people explained to me it is called "relation-shipping".

it is creepy either way. Very obsessive to extreme hate or extreme love of a skater. Is this normal? Perhaps you didn’t realize I meant she would be called traitor if she truly dated someone not Russian. Specifically North American.
