Thank you for starting this thread and copying out the program list, @Skate Talker! :) (I haven't been able to follow CoC like I normally would have due to this week's Midwestern Sectionals & U.S. Ice Dance Final.) Your YT link:
The colored schedule says the EX Gala will be from 14:30-17:00 in Chongqing, which is 1:30-4:00 AM Eastern time (starting in about 1 hour & 15 mins. from now). Peacock will have a livestream in the U.S. that can be replayed afterwards for ~48 hours.

They need to ditch the on-ice camera during these exhibitions, too.

SBS planned? 1T, that's a new one.

People talking about this program during the PBP is the only reason I'm here.

I did not know that. Was it obvious when he was skating the free program?

Haven't seen this odd Shaidorov exhibition before but fairly certain that 3T-ish attempt with almost splits fall was not intended and probably hurt quite a bit.

For those who watched the whole thing, what should I focus on in the replay? I haven’t seen many ex programs this season.

Ok, but how did skating’s ultimate nepo baby end up in Theodore the Chipmunk costume?

Which one? Aren't they both nepo babies? :D

That was the exhibition that people were talking about in the PBP that got me here. It was, um, kinda lame. They really couldn't do much in those big costumes.

Wait, is Gleb also a nepo baby? I must’ve missed that chapter lol
Well, yes in the sense that he comes from money. His dad is a well-known Russian actor - his most famous role was in the Nigel the Butler role on the Russian version of "The Nanny."

Right. His dad is famous and in the entertainment industry. Nepo babies don't have to be in the exact same field as long as fame/success in one field impacts fame/success in their chosen field. So if your mom is an actress and you are an influencer, that counts IMO. But if your dad is a movie star and you become an accountant, you most likely won't get any benefit from your parent's connections so I wouldn't count it.

this is how I discovered there is a russian adaptation of the nanny
You're in good company! FSU is how I learned about it too, lol.

Yes, that's where I'm sort of lost on people calling him a nepo-baby. He's not trying to be an actor or an influencer. At best, dad's money & connections have given him opportunities, but he wouldn't have gotten to where he is as a skater without some natural talent that's been nurtured and developed.

Using the money and connections of your parent to get opportunities that you wouldn't otherwise get is what being a nepo baby is all about.

This is where you lose me. Because we're talking about SPORT. Physically you have to have some natural talent to get to the Olympic level. There's no amount of nepo-baby money & connections that is going to get you there without a LOT of hard work, effort and God-given talent. The Kardashians and Jenner kids, the Hiltons - those are nepo-babies. Now, if DavSmo had been given a TE slot in Beijing, then, sure, I'd grant you that was due to nepotism. But they weren't. And they're going to have to work very hard to earn an Olympic medal of any kind now that they're skating for Georgia rather than Russia.

There is nothing in the definition of nepo baby that says the nepo baby doesn't work hard and have talent. It's just that they get attention and opportunities that they wouldn't otherwise get on their own. So Jamie Lee Curtis is a nepo baby. Is she a very talented actress? Yes. Does she have famous parents who gave her leg up when she was first getting into the industry? Also, yes.

I like this team and I don't begrudge them these opportunities but I don't pretend having famous parents didn't help them.
