Cloud flare notification?

This morning when I accessed FSU I got a cloud flare notification. Is this something new? I've seen this before on other websites but never on FSU.

I got it multiple times, whenever I took any action, except "liking." I got an error when trying to "like."

I'm getting those a lot. Often when I toggle back and forth from other sites - but also when I've had a page open for a time with no activity

Yeah, I got it too but then it decided I'm a human and let me in. But I'm hearing others are getting stuck.

I've had to veryify a couple of times this morning. Also, the Forums page is weirdly slow in loading...some of the time. That's been true for the past couple of days.

We've never really needed to throw it up previously but over the last few days, we've had a swarm of malicious bots visiting the site and causing a slowdown for the rest of us.

It seems to have passed now and I'm working on improving our firewall rules to better handle this.

I've been getting the same thing a lot here and on other sited I visit. I feel better knowing it's not something I did to screw it up for myself. It sounds like the bots are busy all over the internet lately. Thank you for the information.

I'm not sure if it is related...but quite often now when I go to load the Forums main page, it stalls out. The home page seems to work fine. Some individual pages also have the same behavior in K&C. Kind of weird since it wasn't a problem during the Olympics, which seems like it would have been a much heavier load.
