Horrific! So incredibly sorry for the family, and the skating community as well. ;-(

Cathy Reed posted this:
I think it's from the last time they skated together, at the 2015 WTT.

So sad for Cathy, Allison, Kerstin, and everyone else who knew and loved Chris.

I used to share the ice with Chris and Cathy, and sometimes with Allison. Cathy was one of my coaches, and I sometimes skated with Chris during sessions. I feel bad for his family, his students, his friends, his partners, and everyone who knew him. He was a good guy.

How devastating 😢 I'm so sorry for his loved ones, what a terrible loss, and so young!
Alright 2020, we've had more than enough already!

What a shocking thing to happen to such a young person. I am so sorry for his family and friends.

No it's not normal. It is also not unheard of for elite athletes--or even high school athletes--to die from heart attacks. Even just in skating I can name at least 4 other athletes that have/had heart issues at a relatively young age.
