Chantastic....the return of Patrick

Anybody know who did the choreography for his programs this year. At the Skate Canada National Team site it only lists the Canton group as coaches. Does that mean Marina did the programs?

He usually uses David Wilson, so that's my guess. Possibly some assistance from Jeff Buttle, but if I were a betting person, I'd put my money on Wilson.

Ummmm... clears throat... pinches myself... there is no way my eyes just saw that...

Who would have thought that i would be taken to another place by Patrick? I actually didn't finish the free because i want to wait and enjoy it during the season. It's like an amazing book you don't want to end but can't wait to finish. I have not felt this engulfed in a program or been reminded that humans can achieve brilliance since Pap/Ciz. It's where the skating is art and transcends movement and that which we have seen before. This is a culmination of every drop of his potential finally realized.

I am NOT knocking Yuzuru at all but there is a way that Patrick caresses the ice and drives his edges that is unlike any Sr. man. Marina has opened his circles and calmed him and allowed him to really skate HUGE to the music. I don't know who choreographed the program and i did that on purpose so that i could either like it for what it is or not. I'm going to be watching this all damn season.

Thank you Mr. Chan... THANK YOU!

Yup. Not sure if you have seen him skate live, but it is something to behold. He has had that superior edge quality since he was a young teen. I was at a Canadian Championships practice session once when Pasquale Camerlengo was coaching Elladj Balde. I was sitting right behind Pasquale who was at the boards. I was watching Patrick stroke and I sighed with satisfaction and Pasquale turned and looked at me and smiled and nodded in agreement. True story.

I live in Michigan so i've seen him multiple times at the DSC. Balde as well. Patrick is so approachable until it's unreal. In person, on the smaller or larger rink, he's great. I will one day stop by Arctic and watch. I'm interested in the dynamic between Patrick and Zueva but that guy is pow-er-ful.

Patrick's skating is so sublime that I deeply resent the fact he has to pack his program with quads and triple axels to the detriment of choreography. I'll be dreaming of him skating to Hallelujah with no jumps at all. I'll take his FP as a tribute to Cohen who was an exceptional songwriter.

The SP sounds like music from the seventies but I could be wrong.

I am only annoyed that Patrick cares about quads now after the snake oil and all other manners of temptation have worn off ... But I still love his skating and appreciate what he does now.

omg, I had not realized how much I hate that song, it's so unfair for me because his skating is soooo beautiful. Now I'll have to choose another song to listen to every time I watch that program.

I never liked this song either, but I can't stop watching Patrick skate to it. You know you're seeing magic when the skating makes you like the music, rather than the other way around.

Sorry, I know this was so 2 weeks ago, lol, but I just watched his programs again and I see lots of movements we have never seen from him with Jeff or David's choreo. I feel like Marina choreographed both programs. And I love them.

I don't know who is doing Patrick's choreo but I think I would call this season "the year of the knee slide" as he has incorporated that move just the once in the short but multiple times in the free ... right?
I love what I have see of his programs thus far. I can't even imagine how much "more" they will be when the Olympics (and maybe Worlds?) take place. Going to be an interesting skating season for this Canuck!
